Default RE: Uni-Flow Tanks

Bob Violett flew high performance Formula One pylon racers for many years before getting interested in Jets. We ran crankcase pressure on that type of airplane, which is much higher than muffler pressure. Even so, the final tuning of the fuel system was to shim the tank up or down to compensate for the 30 plus g loading in the turns. Smoothness was most important to avoid killing the plug. I met Bob at the Virginia Beach Nats around 1988 when he came up and introduced himself. He told me two things: That I had the fastest F1 airplane that he had ever seen, and that I would do better with a more conventional paint job. Since he no longer competed in pylon at that time, he was just interested in what was new.
