Solo'd today...
You may remember, I bought a used MidStar .40 back in the beginning of April...
Weather and days off were not cooperating, so I only managed to get one day of flying in between then and today. Got about 4 flights in that day, the last one beginning with a very sloppy takeoff.
Finally got to fly again today. Had my teacher (the guy I bought it from) with me again today. He helped me get it trimmed right and stood back and watched, then asked if I was comfortable trying a landing and I figured I gotta learn sometime, so I set myself up like I've been doing in the sim and made a low pass without landing, went to go back into the pattern and come around to put it on the ground and about 10 feet up the engine quit, so my first landing outside of the sim was a deadstick into THICK grass (about 6-8 inches. Came in great, but thanks to the grass, flipped it on its lid and broke the prop.
Put my spare prop on and tried again. No troubles... Played touch and go for a little while. Some of my landings looked like Captain Kangaroo was flying, but the plane's still in one piece.
I realize this is the proverbial "I solo'd on my second day" thread, but I don't consider it that. I've been playing with RealFlight G2 pretty much daily for the last month and a half and I don't think I would have been ready yet without it.
I'm goin' back out again tomorrow after work, weather permitting. Batteries are all charged.

RE: Solo'd today...
Yeah flippin the plane isn''t that bad... I have flipped my superstar time after time with no problems yet. Our runway is a 2 way non used road. So it is easy to get off it. And i have got off it on approach, but thought i could set it in the gravel and it would hit the tall grass and flip. Never broke a prop like that though...
