airscooter. It's never to late and yours is now added to the contest. If you are not aware, once Seebee and his girls decide the winner gets a choice of a H9 Twist or $80 bucks in cash

RC Ken and all,

Thank you for a wonderful thread. I'm new in this hobby and RC UNIVERSE has provided me much info and help to get better involved. After 15 years that I had built a trainer that never made it to the sky due to family and business obligations (but it still serves us as a light in one of our house's rooms), this autumn the bug got me once more and so I went and bought through Ebay a used trainer and TX. This plane that I bought was not a good purchase since there is not available info about really getting it ready to fly, as everyday that passes gives me more knowledge that creates more concerns about it's ability to fly at all. I hope one day to overcome this problem by meeting local experienced modelers. At the same time it gave me more opportunities to seek around for more info while slowly building up my field equipment and getting some experience in the sticks with the help of simulators. Still I don't know whether I'll finally have or not the chance to go and fly it, but during a business trip last week to Florida, the bug hit again and a decision made: as I had observed this thread, I bought a kit for the Kadet LT-40 along with an OS 40LA for a new and hopefully better start . So as time permits I'm going to built this plane closely following the advice provided here and possibly asking questions that the construction creates to a true novice. All the best for the coming holidays,
Manos from Greece

Manos - you missed a great opportunity while in Forida to stop by a field and perhaps try flying a plane a little bit with a club. If you get back to the U.S. try to find out a club and get a little introduction flight training. It will be a big help later on.

Thanks Bruce88123 for the advice, I plan to find locally somebody with a buddy box for my initial flights. It was a business trip with a very tight program and it is a miracle I even had the chance to "still" half an hour for model shopping. I went to Phil's hobby shop in St. Petersburg who was very helpful. It was my first ever trip to US and everything is quite different than in Europe, especially transportation. If you have not a car you can't really do much of anything. I payed 70 dollars in Taxi for my "shopping" and another 110 dollars for "excess baggage"[:@] to Delta Airlines on which the youngest air hostess could be my grandmother! Anyway I didn't regret it at all.

manosfromgreece,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm really glad that I could be of some help to you. This was my main reason for doing this build thread, to help others see that building a kit really is an option.

I'll have posts of more build progress in the next couple of days.

Ken

Glad that you consider the trip a success and will be using a buddy box. That will help a great deal.

About the only ones more greedy here than our Taxi drivers are our lawyers and politicians. But I assume that is universal. Have an Oozo (spelling wrong) for me.

Welcome to RC flying, it will be fun.

Hey everyone! I have a color scheme here that I thought I would post. This was my first attempt at doing something like this on the computer, but I think it turned out pretty well. I think if I do a few more I'll get the hang of it. Let me know what you think!

As they say, "all good things must come to an end."

I'm going to close up the competition for the design contest. It's getting to the point that I need to order the covering material for this plane. So it's up to SeeBee1 and his daughters to decide what they want their LT-40 to look like. Of course, we'll let everybody know who wins!! Good luck to all those that entered. There were a lot of good designs there so I know it's going to be hard to pick a winner.

One point for the winner. Because of the Christmas season being in full swing it will be after the first of the year before Bubbagates can get the winner the Twist/cash award. Thanks for being understanding.

I also placed a link in the post to the previous list I did. Yours are there and are the first ones shown in the link unless there are others I'm not aware of.

We have a winner!!

Seabee1 and his daughters have picked the design that they liked the best. The winner was Brocja01. [link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3439708/mpage_6/key_/tm.htm#3476012[/link]

Here is a copy of his design.

I'd like to thank eveybody that entered. To be totally honest, I'm glad it wasn't me picking a winner because I loved all the designs that were entered!!!

Thanks, I was pretty suprised. Exspecially after looking at all of the other designs.

I'm really excited to see the finished product now.

I've been watching the design schemes come in for the last few weeks and I knew that the final plane was going to probably be pink and purple. I thought I was ready for it. While out Christmas shopping with my wife today I stopped by the LHS to pick up the Monokote for this plane. Boy oh boy, did those colors really hit me once I saw them in person!!!! I did change from standard pink to neon pink because the standard color was just a bit dull. I think that these two colors are really going to stand out in the air!!!! What do you you all think???

Ken,

I don't think orientation is going to be a problem with those colors. Boy are they bright [X(]

Yep, my newest baby. That pic is when it had the Fuji 43. Good engine, plenty of power, but not enough for me so it was removed and a Brison 3.2 was installed but we have 6 inches of fresh snow so I haven't flown it yet will the new engine but I have ran it and all I can say is [X(]. This thing should turn into a missle

I just ordered the Yak from Carl Goldberg for the Fuji as it seems to be a perfect match. Should be here mid week next week. Between the Ultimate thread and Yak thread and typical holiday family things I haven't had much time for anything else

Here are much better pics of the Ultimate. This is what the new graphics I ordered are for and why I asked about a metallic blue to change the stock Ultimate logo from flat blue to metallic

Mark,

It sure was, it got mad at me because I flew the Ultimate 4 times then got too cold so I defueled it and put it back it the truck. It's been talking to my WH Ultimate and now I have 2 planes that turn their tails to me when I walk up to them Yep the WH is jealous also but I did make amends because I sold the spare WH Ultimate that was NIB. So it feels a little better still mad at me, but not near as much as the 4*
