Prop size + engine..
Hi,
I was recommended to use a 13x6 prop with my OS 55AX engine, however, the hole in the prop is larger than what's on the engine, what do you do in this case?
Thanks in advantage!

I would just wrap a layer of tape around the drive shaft
I can hear the nasty comments already, but I've done it many times with no problemo

Why a 13/6? Thats kind of on the higher side here.

Tape is a good idea, I have never had this problem. It's nice to get a solution before the problem for once.

RE: Prop size + engine..
I put the question here simply because I thought it was a fairly simple question, and I had never come across this problem before with my other models.
Making some sort of collar is out the question mostly - finding someone who has a lathe capable of making small bits like that is near to impossible in this country!!
I'm building (assembling) a TF Cessna 310 and looking around here and talking to others, a 12x7 or 13x6 2 blade props are ideal for this engine+model... feel free to correct me, but either of those 2 made sense!
Thanks again..

Yes, they sound OK, you are not looking for outright performance I expect with that model, more like a quiet engine. If that is the case try the 12x7 first, it is like using a slightly higher gear.

You could possibly take your engine to a hardware store and buy a length of brass, copper, or aluminum tubing that is a good fit on the shaft. Then ream the prop to fit the outer diameter of the tubing.
The following 13x6 props have a 1/4" (or smaller) hole, which can be reamed match the shaft:
APC 13x6 Sport Prop
Master Airscrew 13x6 S-2 G/F Nylon Gray Propeller
Master Airscrew 13x6 K Series G/F Nylon Propeller
A lot of the wood props are described as having a hole diameter of approximately 1/4" so there's a chance they are oversize.
I know there are lots of prop brands available. The ones I listed are what I have actually used. My engines all have 5/16" shafts So I have to ream all of my 12 and 13 inch props.
