They're expensive. Just keep it in the garage away from any source of flames.

OK MEN (and boys) I appreciate your help. Is it best to purchase a SMALL refrigerator with a lock on it that stays in the garage? We have 5 children in the house and encourage a load of friends, so I reallly like the idea of keeping this Hobby safe. If anyone has a better idea or knows of a problem with this idea, tell us.

If you have any other helpful hint for my son, feel free to tell him too.

I would think that any lockable cabinet/box would be adequate. You're in GA so you shouldn't get too cold in the garage and I doubt if it will be too hot either. My garage gets quite hot too and I have no problems. Good to see Dad on here taking an interest in the safety side. If you have regular storage cabinets in the garage, just throw on a hasp and padlock.

seems to me that fuel in the frig would cause water in the fuel from condensation. has this been a issue?

get a small frig, put a lock on it and cut off the power cord (that will cure the condensation problem). do not store food in the frig as it now has a hazardous material in it

There is such a small amount of air in the bottle that the amount of condensation is extremely small. Unless you're being very sloppy with your fuel, leaving it open for long periods, and using it very slowly, condensation should not be a problem.

Tehachapi is NOT in northern California. It is just north of Los Angeles on the rim of the L.A. basin.
That places it smack in the middle of Southern California.

only the wierd thing about Tehachapi is that it gets freakin hot during the summer, but has snow in the winter...........

Nope, the water only condenses on the outside of the jug. I store my CA Glue and Glow in the frige. If you are worried about children getting into your frige, please put a lock on it.

Bingo! Give it a shot. My fuel and CA glue lasts a lot longer.

Ya got to give darneir a break here. I was thinking seemefly1 was wanting to know if it was North or South of the Equater myself. He did ask another of his vague questions.

I cant belive it Darneir posted on my account just so everyone knows. And i have lived in Tehachapi for over 30 years and it is Southern California 2 hours from L.A. not nothern california. IMO.
But oil is the topic here and should stay as such. My Son Darneir posted with my account sorry about that.

R/C fuel is highly flammable. That means it REALLY likes to burn. Get it out of the house unless you can afford to buy a new one. Having it in there may even invalidate the homes fire insurance.

Would you put a gallon of lawnmower gas in your room? This is worse.[:@]

Please explain this, i understand it is flamable but its less then normal gas, lawnmower fuel is more volitil which is why you need more metal to contain it (for engines) and you also burn about 1/2 for the same size engine...
