Saito 125 Needle Settings - Break-in
Does anyone know how many turns out from bottom the low end needle should be set at for break-in?? I mistakenly cranked on the adjustment screw thinking it was holding the throttle arm on and duh it wasn't. The manual says 5 turns out on the high end but says that the low end is factory set and doesn't give specs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was going to try to run a few tanks through it today before the maiden this week.
Thanks

Jeremiah,
If this engine is a Saito I don't know but I would suggest waiting til tomorrow and calling Horizon Tech Support and ask them. The other option would be to unsrew it until it is almost out where the throttle arm hole is. Maybe 1/32" in from there. Then start it. If it doesn't idle keep playing with it. I would probably screw it in alittle more. If this doesn't help go the other way. You will get it eventually. Plus 5 full turns I think is to much. I tried that on my Saito 1.50 and it needed to be leaned a turn right away.
Good luck,
Barry

Just a suggestion, but you may want to repost your question in the engine forum, or have a moderator move it to the engine forum - some of those guys are real experts in setting up 4-stroke engines and you'll probably get more responses.

There is no real setting for the high speed needle as you use wide open throtal and adjust high speed needle to adj RPM (with the use of a TACHO) to hold the RPM a 4000. The low speed needle is explaned in the manual for base setting if it is lost. Full running in specs are also in the manual.
