Elevator requirements state 1/2" up/down and rudder 3/4" left/right. With the rod at the last hole on the horn and the second hole on the servo arms I am off by about 1/8". If I set them on the outside hole of the servo the servo will buzz, but they are perfectly quiet where they are set now.

I would really like to take this old Lanier Indicator (modified with 450 electric motor) to the field to just play around with and learn to fly. Will the 1/8" that I am off be acceptable for an old plane that will not do much more than basic training?

Worse than I thought. Don't think this will be acceptable.

Elevator supposed to be set at 1/2" and it reads 3/8", 1/8" off
Rudder is worse. Supposed to be set at 3/4" and it reads 3/8", 3/8" off.

Will try longer arms but as I stated earlier when I move the rod out to the first hole the servo buzzes. Hope it doesn't do this with the longer arms. Or would longer horns be better, or perhaps arms and horns longer I think. TX is now weak so will have to continue with this later tonight after charging.

Hope to have it ready for tomorrow.

Progress on the elevator. Using a longer arm on the servo and it is now reading the 1/2" it is supposed to.

Is it OK if the servo buzzes only occassionally? Not constantly but say about every 5th or 6th movement, is that OK?

TX weak again so charging it up again, was only partially charged long enough to do elevator.

Rudder will be done later, hope for the best.

Instead of using longer arms on the servos, connect the horns at the flight surfaces to holes closer to the surface. Shorter at the rudder = longer at the servo, and so forth.
btw, if you have a radio with dual-rate switches, be sure it is set for the high rate when you are building the model.
