Alright, I have a OS .46FXi that I put on my great planes cherokee, I put on a 11x6 Prop and it seems to produce the most rpms i had a APC11x7 on it and it was low on the rpm side..is the Master 11x6 this the best prop if im looking for speed and response?

You have the question wrong. It's not what prop is best for a OS .46FXi. It's what prop is the best on a OS .46FXi on a great planes cherokee? I would like a APC 11x6.

APC 11x6

If the model is heavy and you are flying of grass then an APC 11x5 might be better esp. if you have removed the restrictor inside the silencer.

As has already been recommended, the APC 11x6 or even an 11x5 are probably excellent candidates for that airplane. If you aren't too confident in your landings though and think you may be prone to prop strikes, stick with the Master Airscrews since they are more flexible and less prone to breaking.

Prop selection relies on not only the engine but other factors include the airplane, type of flying, available ground clearance, etc.

Just a side note, but if you ever put that engine on a 3D plane, a 14X4 APC really rocks on that engine.

I flew mine on an 11 x 6 APC and occasionally on 11 x 5 (when I didn't have and 11 x 6 available). I was using and MDS .46 as my power plant. It was one of the early ones with no problems.

There was an MDS without a carb problem??? 11X4-5-6-8?? You have to test and find the prop that will fly the plane the way you like. I found the 11 the best length for my planes. 10X8 if I was looking for more speed.

I am using 11x6 JXF or APC on my  OS 46AX engine and JXF 11x6, RAM 12x4 or APC 12x5 on my GMS .47. tp fly my Extra 300s.

The bigger low pitch props give me more thrust and better climb rate  but I have the ground clearance to handle them.
The OS is in the Escapade and the11x6 works just fine in that application. 11x5 will give a slightly higher rpm but lower overall thrust.

depends on what type of flying characteristics you want.

OS says anything from a 10x7 to a 12.6 is suitable for their engine

Hi!
11x6 APC ...or RAM (British made)! MA props (except the scimitar series) are the worst you can use! Just noise and no pull.

I like a 10 x 7 APC prop. You can get by with a 10-1/2 x 6 prop. If the engine's turning 12,000-13,000 RPM, you have it propped "correctly" as far as the engine's concerned. Now try props that will allow the egnine to turn that RPM AND fly your airplane as you desire. Then you'll have the "correct" propeller.

For 3D flying, try an APC 12.25 x 3.75 prop. That one works especially well with light airframes.

Funny, ihave been using Scimitar props with good result for some time now. Mostly the 10X6 on my .40s, but the 12X6 on my Saito .50 worked fine too.

Though I am no expert: 11x6, 11x5, 10x7 for a pattern / sports airplane like the Cherokee.

12.5x3.75 APC or 12x4 for 3D

I stick to MAS as they are not prone to breakage

You use the prop that makes the plane fly the way YOU want it to, there is no magic size or make. I use MAS on trainers when I'm teaching new students because I expect ground strikes and they handle them better then APC. I almost never ground strike one of my own so I prefer a prop that works a lot better then a MAS for myself so I use APC or Xoar. If an engine/pane combo works for the pilot using a 12 inch prop then by all means use it but first you have to test props to find out what you like. The prop range is given in the owners instructions so the pilot has a lot of choices to try.
