My daughter and grand kids live there. Funny, she never worries about the boys running away from home, she can see them for three days if they try!!

I have to but in here, not to complain about where I live it is nice and green in the summer but man between all seasons of the year with snow, rain, wind we really have a short flying season in Athabasca AB (Google)
I'd say we get half of the 6 months of decent flying weather. I am still learning to flying in the wind, cross wind landings, gauging wind speed so the plane does not get blown away. But I find late in the evening, and early in the morning is the best time for us. And the winter is just tooo damn cold (-20 to 55 Celsius average) to hook up ski's not to mention not making it to the flying area and back with out a snow mobile <sniker> Little colder than Norway since we do not have an ocean to warm us up by the way, but lately we have not had any Chinooks lately (-20 Celsius to +10 to 20 above in about 1 hour) other wise I would go out in the middle of winter

I went to a private Christian HS, so our senior trip was an educational one instead of just getting sloshed and you know in Mexico. Anyway, we went from DC up to NYC. We stopped in PA at an Amish farm where they sold handmade goods, and ate an Amish style restaraunt. I discovered God's gift of shoo fly pie there, YUMMY! I thought it was kinda wierd that the Amish farm used modern electric cash registers.

I'm from Corbin, Kentucky. Our local claims to fame are being the home of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Cumberland Falls and the Moon Bow, and author Silas House.
For the most part, it's your typical small town. We do have a great little flying club http://tcss.zoomshare.com/0.html and can fly pretty much year-round. There are also several other clubs within an hour or so drive from here.
Also, the famous P-38 Glacier Girl was restored and hangared not far from here in Middlesboro, KY. I was often at their hangar throughout the restoration process and for the flying and airshows. The community misses her since her sale and relocation.
Cheers! BH

RE: RCU Roll call time..Where are you from?
Ummmm I am a Dutch Scottish Jamaican [ Dutch father Scottish mother and born in Jamaica ] I think of myself as Scottish but have lived longer in England than anywhere else.
My last UK club was LDMAS see here [link=http://www.ldmas.com/joomla/index.php]CLICKY[/link] with the essential second home in the Red Lion at the bottom of the club lane. I get quite nostalgic thinking about a pint of Old Peculiar after a days flying.
I am retired now and exploring the USA in a RV and have flown in most western and southern states plus Mexico and Alaska [ lovely club at Fairbanks thanks guys ] .
Currently home is parked in Port St Lucie and I last flew with the SunDancers R/C Club Field just up the road.
Ummmmmmmmm So what do I put down.

Shrewsbury,Shropshire, England, hard up against the Welsh border.
Never heard of it? Shropshire is England's largest inland county and also it's least heavily populated county in terms of people per acre. You could say it's quiet! Shhhhh... that's just the way we like it!
