tire bending. how do i fix?
i have a super trainer 60 and its great. one thing tho is when i come into land the front landing gear bends backwards. how do i fix that? do i get bigger guage wire? i do flare the plane at the end and it still bends. i have gotten MUCH bigger tires also because im landing on a ruff lawn with fairly high grass. wat would you suggest? also by putting larger tires on the front wheel alone should i put a little lead tape in the back of the plane to balance it out? i have notice segnificant drag and weight pulling the front down to the ground.

RE: tire bending. how do i fix?
if you go w/ bigger tires (the light weight foam ones) i wouldnt worry about balance/drag
if i was you, i would go w/ bigger tires and try from their.
its not always bad that the LG is bending, its better for the gear to take the "hit" than the airframe
just bend it back

Bent nose gear is a common problem on a trainer plane.
One cause is bad landings. As you get more experienced, you'll beat up the gear a lot less.
Another cause is soft wire used to make the gear. You can upgrade with something from Dubro, Fults or similar. It can still be bent from a hard landing but it will be much better than some of the butter-soft wire that comes with some ARF's.

Not always the landings, I have seen LG wire that comes with an ARF so soft that the gear bends on roll out, both take offs and landings.
As Chuck pointed out, you can buy a better after market LG and probably have better luck. After being bent and straightened again the wire softens too and bends very easy.

I have had very good results with a Fults

Just make sure you get the right size. This one says it's good for a .60 to 1.20 but's it's 5" long.
