I use a drill bit or hex wrench. Get a size that easily slides inside the tube but is not too loose. Pull on the drill bit until the brass tube starts to bend. As you are bending press the tube against your thumb to help shape the bend and prevent the tube from breaking.

Someone told me they slide weedeater string into the tube, bend, then pull out the string. I've never tried that.

I have heard that you can also fill it with water and freeze it, then bend it with the ice inside, then let it thaw. But the sand or salt is the same principle and would probably be faster than waiting for the water to freeze.
