Those are nice planes but I dont have anything for covering and I would like to start with foam. I think I am going to make a sorta flycat with a .21 engine. I think I am going to make a 40" wingspan plane. I will post pics and the build in this thread!

Some pic's of my 77oz, 80" glow powered foamy, OS .40LA engine, the foam is 1/2" pink, i used some 3/8" thick wood for the engine mount, cut some slots on the tablesaw and epoxied in some 1/8" wood for spars and the sheet veneer is some 1/32" stuff from work. For finishing i always use 2 coats of Varathane diamond polyurathane ( water based ) and then just use a regular spray bomb to paint it.

The 80" build convinced me to do the 120" 10lb (fully fueled) .46 powered 1" blue foamy B2 http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/10FootB22-wmv

might as well get the gms.32 for 3 bucks more, its much more powerful and even weights less.

OK scratch the glow. I am going with electric on this one. I am going to get the great planes escapade as my first glow. I dont want my first glow to crash right away so electric it is on this one. I finished the main wing and the fuse. pics tomorrow!

edit nvm still going nitro! ok you guys think a .21 will fly this? i can get a really good deal on one. pics coming soon

Here are some pics from yesterday. all the little gaps and such will be filled with filler and sanded smooth(which is what im doing now, also the vertical stabilizers and all the parts on the tail are attached now) this started out as a 2" thick piece of foam.

DONE! now all I have to do is get the landing gears, the engine mount, the engine, and the servos. I should be ready to go by the end of the month!

I just ordered the following.
-engine mount
-landing gears
-tank
-prop
-pushrods
-fuel line
-a chicken stick
-hinges for the elevons
-control horns
-and some 1/8" plywood for the firewall.

I put in an offer for a thunder tiger .25 in the market place and offered him his asking price($25) so I am expecting to get that also. I should have it flying in a week or two!!
