OS 95AX for Big Stik 60
I'm considering a 95AX for my Stik 60. I did a search and like everything else, some folks really like the engine and others have had issues with it. Also, in the reviews section there's two entries for this engine and both are somewhat negative.
After the experience with my current SK90 engine, I'm looking to replace it with something reliable with a set and forget mentality. Would the 95AX fit this description?
What's interesting is when I do a search for the OS 75AX, I can't find a single negative thing that has been said about it. Seems everyone LOVES the 75AX. Would this be a more reliable engine versus the 95AX?

Ok.. OS 95 AX. I looked on the OS Engines web page, and sure enough.. OS 95 AX. I wonder when they came out with that one?
I have three OS 1.20 AX's and two OS 75 AX engines and love them all. They all start right up and run great, with lots of power.
I would say that it's a good call.

Yep, the .95-AX is new. I personally have no experience with it. I would imagine it is pretty good though based on their other stuff.

yes, I was referring to OS 95AX. Tower has them on sale right now with free shipping and $30 off for orders greater than $300. Seems like a great time to pick up a new engine. Then there's the OS Bonus Bucks Rebate where you can get $30 back if you trade in an old engine.
Right now, it's a toss up between the 75AX and 95AX. I just want to go with the most reliable, trouble free engine money can buy for under $300.
CG- also, is the DX6i capable of mixing crow configuration or do you need the DX7?

OH darn.. now I gotta get a new plane to accomodate that new engine. [X(]
Ummm.. to me, a crow is a big black bird.. I don't do 3D so I can't answer the question. I'm sure someone out there can, though.

For a trainer? The .55 might be a better choice than any of those three, and even that may be more engine than needed for a trainer.
Give us more info on the plane.
The Hobbico Nexstar is a 75 inch wing span and it comes with an OS .46 AX and it is plenty of engine for that plane.

Its a standard 72" wingspan trainer. Its locally made. People fly it usually with .60 size engine, where as I intend to teach my son on it and also for myself I want to tow a banner behind it!

There's really no such thing as set and forget. The S90K is one of the best out there.
I believe I've heard the .95 is very expensive. If you can't live with the ST, then I'd go with the .75...should be more than enough power for the Stick.

Guys, the issue is that the local hobby shop keeps only OS Engines here at our Country. I have to choose one from 95AX Or 120AX because I checked specs and they say 75AX is heavier but with less power Vs 95AX! Because of banner I have almost made my mind for 120AX. Only concerns are its compatibility with 72" (dont want extra ordinary over powered model so can teach my son on it).

Get yourself the 95AX or 120AX. You won't be disappointed, but they are pricey. With the TowerHobbies saver discount, I got the engine and a few other parts for about $250. I went with the 95ax over the 120 in my Stik because I'm mainly flying 60 sized models these days and wanted to limit the additional weight that comes with over powering your model. The instructions say you can use a 15x6 prop, but I found that to be too much and wasn't getting much more than 8500rpm. I'm now using a 14x4W APC and tuned slightly on the rich side at about 9500 rpm. I can rotate to vertical after about a 15 foot takeoff and go straight up till it's out of sight. I'd also recommend use of an OSF plug. I couldn't get the low end to idle correctly until I switched to an OSF. I'm also guessing the 95ax is probably more fuel efficient than the 120. At 20 bucks a gallon for glow, I wanted the most economical option. I can get about 15-20 flights on a gallon.
