Balance Point of Sig Kadet Seniorita
 

I need help locating the wing balance point on a newly built Kadet Seniorita. My manual states it is shown on the wing plan and it can't be found. Iam under the belife most planesbalancepoints start near the wingmain spar.If you can help I would appreciate it, thanks.

My Great Planes trainer's recommended CG was at the rear edge of the main spar. If no one has the answer in the timeframe you need it, the phone number for SIG is on this page http://www.sigmfg.com/IndexCatalog0000.html Other parts of the site were messed up this morning...

I went into the Sig site and found the three parts of the construction manual. The first picture I saw showed what looked like a balancing arrow at the leading edge of the main spar on the plan sheet they were building over. You might check your plans again as the balance point is shown by a black triangle

the balance point can be shown as a 2 colored cross in a circle the 2 colors alternate....if it were me I'd balance it at the spar and check the CG in flight

I like the fact that a set up chart was found on the Sig site. This will take some of the quess work out of balancing the plane. Something that I think we all forgot is that if the plane is balanced on the spar, we're only talking at most 1/2" of variance. If the plane doesn't like where it's balanced, it will tell you by how it needs to be trimmed to fly level, lots of up trim means nose heavy, lots of down trim means tail heavy. I know many prefer to set up their planes to be slightly nose heavy so if the plane or engine stalls, the plane will dive to maintain or regain lift. Just something to think about;)
