Super Tigre G 90 Muffler: Lost front baffle
I have a Super Tigre G90 ringed engine with the company supplied muffler that comes with them. The front baffle came loose. I pried it out of the muffler.
Question: Will the engine still run OK without the front baffle? There is still a second baffle behind it. |
RE: Super Tigre G 90 Muffler: Lost front baffle
It's a common problem on certain styles of that muffler. It has never changed performance on the three of them I had come loose.

I've been running my STs (75 and 90) without the baffles for 5+ yrs now with no ill effects. Just fly it and enjoy it without that rattling noise.

RE: Super Tigre G 90 Muffler: Lost front baffle
I have a ST 40 ringed and wanted to remove the baffle if it has one. I couldn't figure out how to get the friggin' muffler apart. How do you disassemble these mufflers?

I put a punch in the exit, knock the baffle loose. Then twist it out from the header opening. Works great on the 90 size.

These mufflers do not come apart. You have to remove the baffle through the exhaust inlet using a stong pair of needle nose pliers. Grab the baffle and twist it out. If the baffle is not loose, you'll have to remove the rivet holding it.
