Evolution 10cc on SIG FOUR-STAR 40?

What do you think? Too much engine?

You may have trouble getting it to land. It may continue flying with the engine at idle.

Yea that's like a 60 engine on a 40 plane why not the 10cc on the 4 Star 60

Based on what I've read, gassers at that size (ie under 15-20cc) don't generally produce anywhere as near as much power as a nitro motor the same size, and you'll end up adding extra weight (CDI ignition and it's battery) on an airframe not generally built to handle it, so all you often end up with is an underpowered heavy and not as fun plane.
Units like the DLE20 normally produce a good amount of power more than their 4 stroke nitro counterparts (of the same capacity), and are normally used on airframes where the weight penalty is not so much of an issue (and one that the extra power over-rides anyhow)

A member at our club has that combo and it is a screamer! It can be slowed down and lands just fine. I'd say go for it if your so inclined. Fuel cost will definitely be cheaper.

I actually think that will be a good combination. You'd likely want the 15cc for the Four Star .60

I have the Evo 10cc installed on a Kadet Senior, and believe me, power is not an issue. That motor is really a great little gasser for the money. My Kadet is one of the old kit-built models, and tends to be a little heavier than these new ARFs. I'm sure that putting the 10cc motor on a 40 sized plane will make it scream. I read in one of the other threads that you can solve the floating issue when landing by putting something like a 13x5 prop on it, When I did that it solved my floating problems on my Kadet.
