Steel cranks, carrilo rods, aries 11to1 (Much higher tan I want). We are getting just over 700hp out of them on 93 pump gas all day long. Drives are speedmaster #III's

Had my two best days, etc.............three times Saw a nice one on Travel Channel tonite, though. It had twin 12 cyl diesels and twin gas turbines, and would run 75 knots. Sounds kind of slow for that kind of power, until you see it. 148 feet long, must have been 30 foot beam at least. It was named "The World is not Enough" Neither is my wallet

As to trawlers, most are foreign owned, our indigeonus trawler fleet has been decimated due to catch limitation.

14'6" Mirage Cheeta Formula 3 / SST-60 Tunnel Hull powered by a 75hp Johnson Stinger
I picked this up a couple years ago now and run it with a local performance boat club mostly ( no racing ).
Currently runs approx. 75mph, but has potential to run faster with some more $$ thrown at it.
It's been registered and insured so I can run it without hassles from the local police, as long as I have the required safety equipment, bailing bucket, heaving line, paddle, etc... They love to pick on me, but no tickets yet.

vwfreak,
What would happen if you put a 200 or 300hp motor on one of those. Maybe one of those evinrude e-tech 2 strokes?

I love the tunnel hulls. A razors edge between boat an airplane, it must take a great deal of skill to keep it separated. I do the 30" nitro methane variety and still get a huge kick of them. I finally developed the use of a simple mercury switch from an old HVAC thermostat to slam the throttle shut when the boat starts to go over backwards. It's saved me at least a couple rods from hydraulic-ling with lake water. My boat "boat" is a very tame 24 foot Avalon pontoon with a 20H.P. electric Elco outboard. Top speed ~ 20 knots.
Nothing like a nice leisurely pontoon cruise.

Hot boats, also known as high-performance boats, are thrilling watercraft designed for speed and excitement on the water. They're a favorite among enthusiasts who enjoy fast-paced boating experiences.
