Hi

Im sorry for any issues you may have had with Grayson Hobby. I will solve them all. I have not logged into RCU in several years. So many forums out there...

If you like, you can post your issue here, but it may take a bit for me to get back here, I prefer you open a ticket, but which ever you like is fine.

Grayson Hobby ships 1,000s an order a month, with 99.999% satisfactory but unfortunately there are some that are not.

For those that have ordered from us, I thank you.

Basil

Also, I left a Very Good review on the item I purchased, which is true, I'm still Very Pleased with the Product! I opened 2 or 3 Tickets wanting to know wanting to know why I was charged for shipping & also wanting the 5% off coupon which isn't much but, it all helps! So, I will be Looking for my $15.77 Shipping Charges Credit Along with my 5% off Coupon! Thanks Much....... Tim

Hi Tim

Thanks for the order. I have sent a 5% off coupon code via email. (based off the order number above)

In response to the Free Shipping, The free shipping on $75 is for parts not large items such as airplanes. Shipping fees have gone up 4 times this year and 8 last year, our site links direct to UPS so shipping is exact based off of your zip code in relationship to Georgia, we do not profit off of shipping.

http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/...ng_Details.gif

*Free Shipping Offer DOES NOT apply to over sized items such as Depron Foam, EPP Foam, airplanes or airplane kits and tool boxes. Some airplane kits and large boxes of foam may contain additional costs that will be included in the options portion of each item. Please understand this is not a way for GraysonHobby to add hidden fees, but understand the shipping companies use volume and weight when determining shipping charges. For example a box of 24inch x 36inch EPP foam weights 2lbs, but has to ship in an UPS oversized box due to the volume.

Our Free Shipping offer is not a "gotcha" but due to the every increasing shipping prices based on "Fuel Surcharges" passed down from the varies shipping companies, we must charge actually shipping for large items. Understand, that most times the shipping price per order is actually more than what we charge.

I hope this clarifies things. You can always respond to my email I just sent you.

I am always amused by those who buy cheap foamy ARFs from cheap Internet stores and expect to get the same service from reputable dealers and LHS's.  You get what you pay for!  And believe me, I've bought from them too but pray that it works out (and it has) and protect my adz with PayPal.

I would strongly suggest not purchasing from Grayson Hobby. I purchased 3 LiPO batteries from them recently, two of them had a dead cell. They would not respond to my trouble ticket untill I posted the complaint on their FaceBook page. They requested I return them which I did, they then notified me that the case was closed...no new batteries or refund. Their website will not allow me to create a new trouble ticket (the only way to communicate with them) and they have blocked me from their Facebook page.
This is the second problem I have had with them, I assumed the first was a fluke.

Their biggest issue is communication, your only link to them after an order is placed is via trouble ticket. They have a phone number listed but will not respond to internet customers. There are lots of other places to buy products and I would suggest anyone over Grayson.

Updating my previous post; yesterday, FEB 4, I received good replacement batteries for my order. While this helps to restore my faith in their company I believe a better communication link for web based orders would be a positive and inexpensive addition to their process. Grayson has a good targeted product mix and at a good price, better communications would really make them the total package.

This was my first and LAST time dealing with Grayson Hobby.
I ordered a Dynam Grand Cruiser and asked for a price match by e-mail, per NitroPlanes, they agreed. I payed for the plane thinking Grayson would refund the price match on my PayPal account. After a few e-mails, by support ticket, and no replies, I got the plane but no refund.
After opening the box I found the decal sheet was defective. Again I e-mailed Grayson again, by support ticket, for help. I asked if they had the decal sheet for the Grand Cruiser. A guy named Basil, I assume the owner, sent me an e-mail stating that he had one sheet left, so I immediately placed my order for the decal sheet and a couple of EZ Connectors for my "DYNAM" Grand Cruiser. I recieved the order in the mail a couple of days later, but no decal sheet only the EZ connectors. Invoice says decals were on back order. What? Then the EZ connectors they sent were from Du-Bro not Dynam. Du-Bro connectors do not work with the GC due to the small diameter of the GC pushrods.
So "again" another e-mail to Grayson Hobby. Next day I get an e-mail from PayPal that Grayson Hobby sent me a "partial" refund.
Long story short, Grayson refunded the cost of the decal sheet....7.99 but kept the money for the wrong EZ connectors and all the shipping charges...about $12.00.plus the time and hassel for me.
Poor communications and service. Plus I feel they ripped me off.
Just saying, You've been warned.
Have dealt with Hobby King, NitroPlanes and Banana Hobby and never been treated the way Grayson Hobby treated me.

You prefer we open a ticket huh?Well I opened my ticket four weeks ago and nobody from your organization has so much as commented on it, in spite of me updating it every couple of weeks.

I ordered some batteries and some other things on 2/22/2013. At the time of the order the web site said they were in stock. When Igot the order, the batteries were not in it and labeled as being on backorder. Odd, because you took my money, in spite of your stated policy not to charge for back-order items until said items ship.

I emailed [email protected] to ask what was up. Then I opened a ticket on 3/26 to request status.

I updated it on 4/15 and 4/25 asking for status and giving my cell phone number on 4/15. I have yet to receive an email or a phone call. On the 3/29 update I requested specifically that you either contact me with updated information or refund my stolen money. Yes, it's stolen... you took it in violation of your policy and have not given me product in return.

Iwill never do business with Grayson Hobby again and Iwill tell everyone Iknow to avoid you.

No combination of price and product makes up for lousy customer service. These people are crooks in my book and Iwill spread that message far and wide.

Sounds like Grayson is a waste of everyones time and money. I never had the displeasure of dealing with them but I can highly recommend A Main hobbies and Horizon Hobby. I have had great luck with both whenever there was a problem with anything it was taken care of promptly. A main has even gone as far as contacting a manufacturer for me to get a discontinued item. And they got it which was pretty unbelievable. I have had very few problems with items and when I did it was resolved ASAP. Moral of all this is keep your customers happy while still being profitable and you can keep the profits coming in the future. Word of mouth is a powerful thing to have on your side. I've been into RC for around 30 years and we all know nothing last forever. We all crash and burn or break or blow something up and when we do its on to the next bigger better plane, heli, car, boat whichever our addiction is. Good reputable sellers will keep us coming back time after time.

P.S. for those of us with local hobby shops we need to keep them in business as well. They need to make a living and just seeing your face is not making them money. Buy something when you go see those guys! Even if its tools, glow plugs anything you know you'll use. Just because you can get it cheaper online you shouldn't make the ones who are there for you in a pinch suffer. These are the guys who sell you that part you just broke and need right away to keep playing!

ordered a Dynam Grand Cruiser on 4-17-13.  Payment was taken out of my account for this and I can not get any response from this company at all.  Just trying to find out what is going on and where my product is.  They wasted no time in taking my money ($210.20).  I either want my money back or my item that they already collected and paid for.  We were given a shipping number and no information can be found on it.  The shipping company says that the shipping number is not theirs.  The product was not on back order when we ordered it.  We have tried to contact Grayson several times and even given them phone numbers to contact us since there seems to be no phone number to contact them.  We are getting no response at all from Grayson. They are not answering their e-mails or communicating with us at all to try to resolve this issue.
ANY IDEAS as to what to do????  This is definately not good business practice!
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try posting a complaint on their Facebook, that worked for me. Not sure why they operate like this.

I've sent them two emails asking some basic questions about a plane they sell and have never received any response from them.  When I get ignored as a potential customer, well that just sours me from considering making a purchase from them.

Here is a story that might explain why some folks get bad service from Grayson...

I have an order that was supposed to be on hold until the Dynam Catalinas came in. They were in for a couple weeks and my order was still on hold so I called the store. I guess I spoke to the owner and everything was going really well. Unfortunately, before I hung up, out of habit I asked when the order would be shipped. Big mistake. I could hear the sharp intake of breath from 3000 miles away and my order has been stuck on hold ever since. Now I don't know what to do. Nitro won't ship large planes to Canada so I'm stuck. I sent a gentle reminder but it didn't help.

Whoever was on the phone that day, my apologies. Normally we deal with impersonal call centers and this is obviously not the case here. I should have known better.

I ordered a park zone night vapor from Grayson Hobby on April 5 2014 it was to come with a free 120mah 3.7v lipo that's how it is advertised and still is on there web site.it did not come with the battery so i sent them 2 e-mails saying that i did not get the free battery.the last was 3 week's ago i got a reply saying that some one would get back to me but no one ever has. I will sent them one more saying that i will no longer be using there services or need them,i have spent a lot of money with Grayson Hobby i guess they don't care if they lose a long time shopper at there store in Grayson Ga. over a $4.00 battery.

I wish I had read this thread prior to trying to do business with Grayson. They shipped my order quickly but are now no longer interested in my issues with their product. They apparently have more than enough business and do not need mine. I will not be doing any more business with them!!

It's highly unlikely I would order from Grayson or somebody like them in the first place.

Here in Billings we have three good LHS's that have internet pricing for the most part. Two of them are the largest in the nation in their specialist areas. One of them stocks a lot of tools, spare parts, and building supplies (something not seen often in these days of ARF and RTF minded consumers), so I give them my business as much as possible. They have been around for decades, in the same location. All e RC gets most of my internet purchases as I am into electric these days and have not yet gotten into large scale gas models. All e RC responded very quickly to a couple of problems I had with a motor and a speed controller I ordered. All orders over $100 had priority USPS shipping even though I elected free UPS ground shipping on the order form. This is service above what was stated. Returning customers get discounts starting at $500 total past internet order value. They have a very large sale section and most of my orders have been the sale items. Just like LL Bean, I have received the same service and return privileges on sale items as regular priced items. Never a runaround.

Some people shop for the absolute lowest prices, but I have found it is better to deal with those who give reasonable prices and top level service and will trade with them as long as they treat me right. My father taught me to trade with local dealers even it it cost me a little bit more as long as they gave good service. Local dealers can't cover every situation, so you need a mailorder source that covers the situations they can't that will give prompt and efficient service. When you find the ones that work for you, give THEM your money and give the fastbuck shyster artists a big middle finger and see to it that it's the last dealing you have with them.

How you spend your money determines what businesses survive and those that die off. Since Montana has no sales tax, that is an 8% advantage over what most of you other guys are paying locally. It's one more reason to keep MY local hobby shops in business, as it also saves on shipping costs. After you get established in the hobby, most of your purchases will be small, and dealing with a local shop and not paying shipping costs usually saves you money and you have the item immediately.

However, some people live in areas that have no LHS or the LHS is a cranky bear to deal with. For that reason, honest mailorder shops are a big boon for them. So just find a mailorder shop that treats you right, but if a LHS is doing a good job, then by all means give them your support. What you have locally is what people have supported locally. That says a lot about the customers as much as it says about the shop itself. In the end, you will get what YOU pay for, but if you intend to only pay the lowest price possible, then understand that there exists wolves to prey on lost little mindless sheep like yourself. Learn to enjoy your fleecing or change your ways.

There are lots of internet shops you can order from, and it only takes a little bit of time and effort to find some that customers are mainly happy in dealing with. I don't have much of the bad shop woes that a lot of other people seem to be complaining about.

I have never posted to this forum before, but felt it was time based on my experience with Grayson Hobby - I have made purchases from Grayson over the past couple of years, and in particular, last week - On Saturday 3/12/16 I ordered two ESC's and one Motor - The order was filled Monday, in the mail Tuesday, and delivered to my door today Friday 3/18/16 - The package arrived well packed, in perfect condition, and as ordered - I have nothing but good to say about Grayson Hobby, and their service - 19brady34
