Higher KV Alternative to EMax CF-2822
Been flying one of the "foamenator" combat planes from GWSProps.comfor a while now, it's an absolute hoot.
Currently, it's fitted with an EMax CF-2822/14 at 1200Kv. It spins a 9x5, and has spun a 8x6 a time or two.
I've got several extra kits lying around, and would like to play around with one to build a "speed demon"...or..as much of one as you're gonna get out of a delta wing combat foamy. *heh* I know, I know...we're not about to turn this thing into a world class hot rod or anything here...I'm mostly just wnting to toy around for the fun of it.
Can anyone recommend an upgrade to the existing EMax CF-2822 motor with a higher Kv? Needs to run on 3S Lipo, and I'm happy to upgrade to whatever ESC I need to support it. Obviously, it needs to spin an 8-10" prop as well.
Thanks in advance

RE: Higher KV Alternative to EMax CF-2822
If you want to spin an 8"-10" prop with a higher Kv motor, you'll need something a bit heavier than that 39g CF 2822. Even a 50g Suppo A2212/10 (~1435Kv) is at its limit with an 8x4 (17A/182W). If you had a 9x5 on 3s on that little Emax you must have been thrashing it. A 70g Suppo A2217-7T (~1340Kv) with a 9x5 GWS HD on 3s can get you 41oz @ 50mph from 22.30A/237W... but again, that is its limit.
