Default What to look for to replace .15 Glow

I see all these numbers and such, but dont know what to look for. In general looking for a low cost(because there will be 12 of them) electric motors to spin a 3 blade 9-10" prop, using 3-4S packs. Looking to split two motors per pack and use 5000mah packs. The motors used are .15 2 stroke glows. Been searching hobbyparts, and hobbyking, but they dont list the prop that can be used. They are going to power a B17.(actually 3 of them).

One useful rule of thumb is: "watts = cubic inches x 2000"... so you are looking at 300W motors.. at 3W/g that suggests 100g motors capable of spinning 3-blade 9"-10" props at 25A-30A on 3s.

This is scarcely more than a somewhat educated guess, but this might do okay with a 3-blade 10x6 on 3s.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_1200kv.html (apparently the Kv may somewhat lower than stated)

It is vital that you get just one motor and test it extensively, to make sure that it does what you need it to, before outlaying lots of dollars for 12 of them!

Thanks, that narrows it down quite a bit. So many different motors its hard to know what works and what is too small/large.

I have a pair of Power 25 motors that fit in the cowls perfectly, but considering that the Twin Otter I have uses these and its a larger plane with only 2 of them, they seem like overkill. I do want to build a scale B-25 for them, just need to find the right scale, probably 1/8th or 9th scale will work.
