Default E-Flite 440 helicopter motor for use in RC plane?

I was thinking of getting into electrics and I have the RX, TX speed controller, servos and e-flite 440 motor out of a Blade 400. Can this motor be used in a RC plane and if not could you explain why. Have been flying for some time now but never electric so it's a bit confusing. Thanks
