Default eFlight Power 160 / 3-Blade Prop

Guys,

Fairly new to electric power so some things are still a mystery to me.

I have the new H9 30cc RV4 and Im powering it with a eFlight Power 160 motor. Id like to run a 3 blade prop (because I like the look) but Im not sure how to determine prop size. Looking for recomendations...if you offer some insight on how you have come to these recomendations that would be helpful too!

TIA

I have a couple of Power 160's in airplanes about the size of the RV 4. I run APC 18x6W props for excellent performance. That prop is about the same size, relative to engine load, as an 18x8. The rule of thumb for switching to a 3 blade is to go down one in diameter or down two in pitch. Since going down to a normal 6 pitch (not wide) would probably make your top airspeed too slow, I would start with a 16x8 three blade.
