Squeaky 400
I have experienced really bad performance followed by or associated with a squeaking on my reverse timed Zagi 400. Oil or spray lube seems to make no difference. The motor seems to bind because there is a marked drop in power. The squeaking comes and goes but inevitably leads to a blown motor.
Post mortum shows no signs of obvious damage to bushings, shaft brushes or anything.
Any ideas?

RE: Squeaky 400
Is this something that happens repeatedly? Multiple failures indicates that something in the motors' environment is causing the failures, or you keep buying out of the same bad batch from the same vendor.
Are you pushing the motor with a larger prop or more than 8 cells? Do you crash often? Flying in dusty/gritty conditions?
Remember that these motors don't last forever. 40-50 flights is average, and 100 flights is a minor miracle. Oiling the busings, BTW, is an exercise in futility. Little, if any, oil gets into the bushing, and the rest just goops up the outside of the motor can and causes dust and crud to stick
