I have this motor, with a 6.6:1 gear box, running an APC 10x4.7 prop, on a Beleriot. Power is via a 1320 mAh 2S1P TP Lipo. Good combination, plane flies well. With throttle management, flights of 23-28 minutes common. I have heard from others that the 4100 kv version is the best of the 2015 series.

Doug...you are way under-propping that set up...

that motor (yes I own one) with the 6.6:1 can easlily spin a 12 x 6 prop......
if you need to spin a smaller prop for clearance, I suggest changing the gearing a bit

I agree, I spin a 10X5 on the 4 to 1 gearing with a 9.6V NiMh

If if flies well why change? You don't always have to prop for max watts and I don't think he's looking to hover it!

missed your post....

I would just prop it differently to use the motor more efficiently.....

or.... if the motor is too much, replace it with a smaller, lighter motor... lighter is better with small planes.....
