Default what is Rimfire equivalent to eflite BL450?

Can someone help me out with this question? I am purchasing the eflite p38 and am going to use brushless. I am interested in using a Greatplane Rimfire brushless setup rather than the eflite park BL450 that is recommended. The rimfires are in stock at tower and around $40-50 compared to the $65 BL450 at horizon (which happens to be out of stock). Thanks.

I was thinking the 28-30-950 rimfire would be a good choice. The KV, constant amps, size and weight are pretty close to the BL450. The next size "up" would be the 35-30-950 but I can't believe the P38 would require that kind of power. My 27 ounce great planes Yak flies great on the 35-30-950 and the P38 all up weight should be 35-40 ounces.

I have used one of those tower pro motors before and I wasn't all that impressed. I guess they performed well but they seemed cheap and didn't carry any sort of warranty. I am okay with using those in a $30 foamy, but not in this new p38 that will have $400 easily into it when all is said and done.

Well you may want to look at them again. Take a look at my gallery. EMI P38, Eflite P47, NitroPlanes Predator, H/L B25, T33, and a couple others not shown, all run Tower Pro 2410-9Y motors. Strong motor. Can spin scale prop, My P38's and B25 all spin 3 blades the Jug now spins a 4. Oh and I have 2 of the new EFlite P38's, wanna guess what's going in them?

You can't beat the pricing, heck you can burn up 3 of them and still be ahead money wise over the cost of a Rimfire. I even use the TP esc's in them. Heck under $25.00 for a motor and esc.
