Default Two brushless motors with one controller

It would seem the two would sync up in a rev or two and stay in sync from then on. Right or wrong and why not please? The advantage of both in sync is smoother and quieter running. Of course the controller would have to be rated for the double current.

Default RE: Two brushless motors with one controller

This has been shown to work in rare cases. Most of the time it does not work because of small differences in the motors. Your assumption that the motors will sync up in a rev or two is usually incorrect.

This topic has been discussed many, many times in the past, and it always comes down to the fact that certain combinations will work most of the time, but the majority of attempts do not work. If you search this and other forums, you'll find these discussions.

The manufacturing tolerances would be more than enough to throw things out of sync. Getting two motors to run on one controller is really an accident.
