$200+ bucks brushless WHAT!! @#%^%
hi all
i am starting to get into this hobby again.. use to play with nitros like 15 years ago.... so i got one of those RTR 1/10 onroad cars... i went to local store and asked about brushless motors, they said brushless motors range $200 and above for the motor alone without esc..... are you kidding me!!!!! what are all these brushless motors with esc i see online for way less.... i am a noob at this stuff.. what is the difference?? why would i spend over $200 when i can get it for like $50 ... i know, you get what you pay for.... blah blah... i am not gonna race the car or anything, just mess around on the streets n stuff... below are some brushless motors for cheap....

Those 1/10 scale competition motors (at $199 including the ESC etc), are rated for 120A which is serious power...hence the price... the motors listed for $40 or so are probably good for 30A at best.

You might want to post this in the cars, trucks, and buggies forum instead of electric aircraft forum, there's probably more people there that can give you good tips on what to use and where to buy.
