NTC3 With AE .15 GLOW PLUG HELP
im running a ae .15 engine on my nitro tc3 with 20% nitro fuel....what # glow plug would you suggest (the engine is already broken in) any help would be appreciated

It depends on what the temperature is where you're at whether you want to run a cold, medium or hot plug. While I don't own a Team Associated, I've heard ALOT of people running the McCoy plugs in them. MC9=cold plug, MC8=medium plug, MC59=hot plug. When in doubt start with a medium plug is my motto. I live in Michigan so the temperature varies greatly over the seasons. I keep medium and hot plugs on hand, running the colds in the summer (now) and mediums in the early spring/fall. They're not McCoy's but rather OS plugs.
My engines are .21 so don't go with what temp my plugs are at as your .15 probably won't react the same. I learned from trial and error which is what I recommend if you live in a climate like I do (buy both and see which one works better with the temps outside).

Don't select a glow plug based on air temp. Air temp has nothing to do with glow plug heat range. What the heat range actually means is how much heat the plug retains between firing cycles. If you use a lot of nitro (above 25%) then you may run into preignition problems if you run too lean on a hot plug. For a normal sport fuel with 20% nitro, likely it has 12% or more oil in it and for that reason I'd suggest a hot plug. Hot plugs are more tolerant of rich needle settings but at the expense of a little power loss. Cold plugs have more platinum in the element and thus make a bit more power, but in a sport basher situation, you won't notice the power difference.
I use Enya 3 and McCoy MC59 plugs year round. I run engines from .10ci (1.8cc) up to 1.20ci (20cc) and use the same two plugs in them depending on what plug reach they need.
