Default Changing carb on sh 18 engine

Hi,

can an anyone tell me if I can use the rotary carb from an HPI t15 to replace the slide carb on an sh 18 engine? i ask as I’ve been offered a new sh 18 but I need a rotary carb on it (it has a slide) so I thought I’d swap it for the rotary that’s on the t15 at the moment - save me a few pennies instead of buying a new carb.

many thanks

As long as the neck is the same size, it should work just fine.

Thanks, it fits fine, just wasn’t sure if an 18 needed a “bigger” carb than a 15. Guess I just need to set the needles to factory and run it in now. It’s been about 10 years since I last ran a nitro, so I’m classing myself as a newbie - although tuning etc is all flooding back to me

Usually a .15 won’t have much different needs than an .18. A bigger bore carb can add performance, but getting re-started with nitro would have me telling you to use a stock carb that fits and run with it for now. When you’re ready for more power, search out a carb with a bigger bore and do what’s necessary to make it fit.
