Problem with Redcat Shockwave engine
The problem is that when u pull the pull start and the glow plug is out it is fine and the piston moves but as soon as you put the glowplug in then it doesn't even move the piston and when it does occasionally, then it is hard to pull. Any ideas on what the problem is? Any Ideas on what the problem might be are appreciated. Thank you.

RE: Problem with Redcat Shockwave engine
Please choose one of the below.
A. engine is new and not broken in.
B. engine has been run at least a 1/2 gallon.
If you choose A, no problem. Read one of the many break in methods floating around. The search function or even Google will help.
If you choose B, you have a problem.

Have you tried heating the motor up with a heat gun and/or loosening the glow plug before you try to start it? That will help if it's just tight. It's hard to diagnose a problem without any info. Kinda like, " my car won't start. How come?" Can you turn the motor over by turning the flywheel with the plug in?

I had sold it on ebay but then got it back and when I got it back the glow plug was in super tight, could that be the problem?

RE: Problem with Redcat Shockwave engine
It appears your Vertex engine uses standard and not turbo glow plugs. Are you using the proper plugs. The OS standard plugs recommended are "short". If you are using a "long" design, the piston will hit the plug. Make sureyou are using the copper washer with your standard plug.

Ya I have the right glow plug with the copper washer. And should I try and start the nitro engine?
