Cylinder head.
i was woundering about if you have to torque the cylinder head when you reinstall it.i havent taken it apart yet but i think the glow plug hole is getting tripped.i have a duratrax war head and i think i can replace the head butten.it still tightens but it dosnt quite fill right.should i leave it till it will not tighten,or replace it now?please help thanks

No i have never torqued the screws on the head. Just make sure there tight. But before you tighten them just don't tighten the one the whole way down then start on the next. Doing this will cock the head and will not properly create the seal that is needed. Just tighten then in a star pattern and just tighten them down till you start to feel a little resistance then do the next and so on. Then after that what i do is turn each each a quarter turn while still doing the star pattern.
But as far as the button do it now. If it isn't right then fix it. Preventative maintenance is the best thing you can possible do. If the thread's on the head button are stripped then there may be metal shavings in the cylinder and that is not good. Take the head off and change the head button and flush out the engine. you may even want to break down the engine and rinse the parts off (thats what i would do) But i am use to tearing the engines down (i have 4 of them torn apart in my room right now). But i always air in the side of caution on these things. It's much cheaper to do the preventative maintenance and rinse off the parts then to buy a whole new engine
