Exhaust manifold orientation
Hi Guys!
i'm new to this forum thingy so please excuse any discrepancies....
i have an HPI SNR with the stock 15fe engine...i want to convert to rear exhaust and i would like to fabricate the pipes etc myself.
i noticed that if i filp the stock header, the pipe now faces the rear in a perfect orientation to run the pipes through the rear bulkhead(?) however the manifold is now sloped upward....from the exhaust port on the engine. would this be a problem? Usually there is some oil in the pipe after i run the car....would any residue oil running back into the engine when its off cause a prolem when trying to restart?

RE: Exhaust manifold orientation
chances are if you fabricate your own exhaust then you will lose power because exhausts are designed specifically for an application to get the most out of the engine, if you want the exhaust exiting the rear of the car then just buy a pre made system, it will look better and likely perform better than a homemade system, the oil thing shouldnt be an issue, and also, the 15fe is a side exhaust, just to clear things up, rear exhausts are types of engines, rear exiting exhaust is more specific, just a pointer

http://tsais.com/ you'll likely get better performance from a pipe like the rd logics turbo II pipe, i had it and it was great
