GO Tech .21 pinch gone after break in
I just ran the 5th tank through my Go Tech .21 3 port and all the pinch seems gone. I heat cycled the motor to break it in never getting crazy on the trhottle. The stock 427 in my truggy with 2 gallons ran thru it has more pinch. Is this just indicative of the GO motor?

It is the sport version. The pinch is almost gone only after break in. Like I said my stock 427 has more pinch. I can roll the flywheel on the GO with my fingers and at TDC with some effort break it free.

Keep temp around 200 on the rich side. I guess only time will tell how long the sleeve and piston will last.

It is normal to lose some pinch during the break-in process. However, it should still have strong compression. If you haven't done so already, take out the silver shim (mine has two copper shims and one silver). This should help raise the compression and make it feel and run better.
On the other hand, if somehow you blew the engine during the break-in, you can get it fixed for $22. Send piston and cylinder to Ray at http://www.rayaracing.com/ and he will take care of it.
Hope this helps.

Dont stress out too much dude. It may not need re-pinching. I have many engines that seem to have "lost" the pinch after runin but as its mentioned above it doesn't necessarily mean that compression is lost. It should still have a "pop" at TDC even if you can roll the flywheel with your fingers. Have you noticed any drop in performance? If you've blown it you would definately know the difference and you would have all sorts of tuning issues and running problems if that is the case.
How tight was the pinch before the runin? Also when running it in try getting over 200F. I have found that 200F is really the minimum operating temps for most engines. Try to get the temp up as quick as you can when running in. This is why you should not run too rich but of course not too lean. Its a very fine line.

A buddy of mine runs a GO tech and his lost the pinch after a few weekends at the track and it still runs great. If it still has power I wouldn't sweat it.
