Break In Engine on short grass?

Default Break In Engine on short grass?

Can you break in a rc Engine on short grass? I have a mate, who will be breaking in his new engine tommorow. And has no Concreate near him for miles.. and he was wondering if its on to break it in on short grass/ Dry mud?? is that ok or not? cheers!

I always break-in on grass. It will put more of a load on the engine, but you are supposed to take it easy during break-in anyway.

The heat-cycle method involves shutting down the engine every time the temp climbs to say.....220F. In grass, the temp may climb faster than on asphalt, so bring it in and monitor temps more often.

Ok thanks, I will tel him that. I was going to do it for him.. but places near me will always be really busy during the weekend.. so May have to use grass... if it comes to it..
