Get a Mach 2 26... 130 bucks or so from amain or www.overdriverc.com ... It's basically a Mach 427. I ran one in my buggy and it flew... Cheap, reliable, fast - sorted...

I dont think any of the pullstart engines are going to be anywhere near high revving ya know ? i mean all the pullstart .21's are pretty much RTR grade engines and nowhere near the full potential of a true race .21.......... If you want a budget screamer consider the OFNA JL 21, it is bumpstart but its priced good and will rip the pants off a Mach 21...

yeah tib i no what ya saying , but most race style bump start mills are a lil pricey and then on top of it i got to buy a bump start box and its just another thing to haul around and keep chagerd. what i wouldnt mind doing is buyin a .21 mach 2 seeing how it go's then get it modded down the track . iv found a good modded iv use befor and he gets great result over here.

200 bucks + starter box + batteries, and you've doubled his budget...

When you take into consideration all the issues associated with OWB's it more then makes sense to run a bumpstart engine....OWB's suck ! plain and simple .... They cause soo many different issues that its not even funny....These engines run and tune so much better when they have a sealed backplate, as well they usually last much longer and perform stronger during their life..... As well to not have to deal with the dreaded slipping OWB...Or have the OWB take a nice gouge out of the backside of your connecting rod etc....

I've had very few problems with the Mach backplates or OWB's.. Yes, the HPI Rotostart stuff sucks, and stuff slips a lot more. But with a Mach and Losi Spinstart, I've had no issues, and the engines run long and reliably..

I'll bet ya that the back of your conrods is all grooved up from the OWB rubbing/.... SH are horrible for that !

Could be, but never really had an issue yet with any of my SH engines.. 'Cept maybe my first Sportwerks 26, which did seem to crap out after about six gallons...(about 5 3/4 gallons more than I got out of two of my high-end Italian engines with closed backplates..) That was more down to the pullstart though(I have since sworn off pullstarts..) All my other SH engines have been flawless.
