I wouldn't bother with either. A LRP 30 or Picco 28 would be MUCH better.... - AND not any more expensive.... Received wisdom from experience and most forums over the years - forget Axial and the OS 30..

i never really play with associated engines.
i've the o.s. 30 in action and has a ton of torque.
i've seen the lrp 30 in action as well and it's got some torque too.
so what's wrong with the o.s. 30

The OS 30 is notoriously overpriced and underpowered - and underlived.. It looks nice, but it won't outrun an LRP Spec 3, and won't live half as long either...

hmm, my buddy has .30vg that he bought for his savage 25 and it had enough power to flip it on it's back just tapping the throttle, then he turned around and stuck that same .30 in a savage xl and same with it ,on it's back just tapping the throttle.
now, he has had the .30vg ever since one week after they came out 3-4 years ago and it still runs like it did when it was new.
yet he runs it 4 times a week.

The .30VG is weak for its price, stock the top end is really bad.
The torque is not any better than most .30s.
Its not a bad engine, it tune well run smooth, but its not what you can expect from a .30 from OS... the OS.28XZ simply blow it away at any rpm.
The LRP .30 would be a better choice if you look for a .30 or higher.
I modified one for a friend a while ago, the was not really agressive, but did changed the timing a bit to get more out of it.
