How to make Nitro Gas

Hi All,

I am very new to Nitro RC cars and was wondering how do you go about creating Nitro Gas. I am in the process of bidding for a Nitro RC car on ebay. I thought that Nitro Gas was 2 stroke engine oil but I think that I was wrong. I jave been trying to purchase some in my local gas stations (I live in Ireland) but cannot find any.

Could anyone here please help me or point me in the right direction ?

Thanks

Michael

If you don't buy it here, at least you know what to look for.

Thanks for that link. The only problem is that I am living in Ireland and Nitromethane cannot be shipped from that site to here as it is out of the U.S.

Does anyone know of a site where I can get instructions of how to make this ?

The ingredients likewise cannot be shipped.

It is a combination of ethanol, nitromethane, and castor/synthetic oil.....

SOMEWHERE in Ireland sells it... If you are that new to this, that is a variable that you don't want; just buy it.

If you can find it, try Klotz Supertechniplate 2stroke oil. As far as the Nitromethane, check with any race fuel manufacturer in your country, they should be able to hook you up with the Nitro and the methanol.

Klotz Supertechniplate oil is the only commercially available two stroke oil that I have found that will mix with nitro and methanol. I have used VP methanol, Klotz oil and VP 99.9% Nitro in the past to blend my own fuel, with excelent results.

Hope this helps,

BK
