    Thanks for the photos Bobt.
    There is plenty of room to fit tuned pipes in that plane.

    I have looked at the 35% Dalton and i prefer to go with Carden even it's not scale. The Carden plane looks like a big pattern plane with its strechy tail moment.. It might explains why they fly so good?

    I took Dad's 35% 260 through the Unlimited Sequence again this weekend, and then played some 3D with it. If I had to go back to a 35% due to cost / transportation I would order one of these in a second and not look back. It would be competitive in any class no questions asked. It goes though a sequence faster than a 40%, however it does it as smooth and easy. Rollers seem easier with this than with my 40% 300 . . . Is that setup ? ? If so where??

    Thanks for the IMAC flight review. Can you do the unlimited sequence under 50% throttle with the DA-100 on canisters or you need to play in 75%-100% throttle for specific figures like vertical snaps for those windy days?

    Dan,

    The real question will be how much throttle will be needed on a hot summer day! But as of now at sea level on a 70 degree day I think I could go through unlimited with a 70% restriction on throttle.

    latest update, somewhere between 40-50 flights. still pulls to the canopy on long uplines so i,m going to increase to downthrust even more and i,m going to try moving the cg back a little so i need less down when inverted. still very pleased with the plane. they say it takes 100 flight to really trim it just right.i,m starting to believe it!

    I know what mean. Most of pilots do not take the time to trim their planes and fights againts it to fly straight. Only IMAC fliers understand how it's important to get a trimmed plane to fly good sequences.

    Hi guys
    I am building mine and the recommended ailerons dimensions are HUGE with 5'' 3/4'' at the root and 4''1/2 at the tips. Are they overkill or may i reduce it to 5'' a the root and 4'' at the tip?? I'll fly mostly IMAC.

    I used straight ailerons at approx. 4.75 in width. The straight ailerons have an almost constant thickness at the hinge line. I did not need any matchboxes for the two aileron servos.

    I decided to go with taper ailerons 5 3/4 at the root and 4'' at the tip.

    One 3/8'' balsa sheet do not allow more than 40 degres throw on the ailerons. Did you use 2 sheets to get more throw or is 40 degres enough for IMAC and 3D?

    My Extra is almost finished and i am ready to install the rudder servo and receiver plate under the canopy. How does it balance with the DA-100 on canisters? I plan to use JR8711 pull-pull setup. Where did you put the choke+throttle servos?

I have two 8611a servos in the tail of my 40pct Carden 300 and rudder authority is very strong. I'm so glad I went that way instead of pull-pull.

    Unfortunately, the plane is covered and there is not enough plywood to install the rudder servo in the tail.

    i have a single hitec 5955 in the tail for rudder. tons of rudder power. mine is a little nose heavy. the throttle and choke servos are mounted just behind the firewall on a plate under the motor box. my ignition battery is mounted on top of the fuel tank. my reciever, 2 lipos, and 2 voltage regulators are mounted in the fuse behind the wing.it's still my favorite 35%plane! dave has flown it and will back that up!

    It look like your model was a little nose heavy. Did you maiden with the recommended CG?
    Where do you think your CG is now in relation to the recommendation?

    I am building the same model and will try to get it in balance with a ZDZ100NG on tunedpipes.

    i always test fly at the recomended c/g or a little nose heavy. it,s still a tad nose heavy. i moved it back a bunch but i didn't like the way it flew there. i must have 150 flights on it now and i still love it. however, i now have 7 flights on my new carden 40% 300 so the 260 is going to take a back seat to that for now.

    Yes, I can confirm that Bob's 35% 260 flies great. I just have to come to grips with the fact that I'll never have enough time or money to have all the planes I want and fly them!

    But that 40% 300 - Wow. I just put 5 more flights on mine yesterday with the 2008 sequence and I am just grinning ear to ear.....


    Tor- you shouldn't have any problems getting yours to balance with the ZDZ100 and tuned pipes. I have a Radiocraft Extra of the same size with just standard mufflers (noise diverters) and balance is no issue at all.
