No Albert its not bondo, its like mud that you put on drywall, except it the lite stuff. Home Depot sells it..... I'll look up the name later and let you know.....

The wings have not been done as of yet. The stabs pattern were drawn (laid up) on the foam and then cut (drilled) out. There was no pre defined pattern...

DA 100 installation tonight.......... Notice the weight of the bolts and the 2.5 deg right thrust in the mount...
Needless to say the aluminum bolts were used to mount the engine....

On its wheels with motor in and spinner, prop, ignition, throttle servo all installed it sits at 16 lbs 6.4 oz..........Kavan Tires, Titanium Axles

The C/G as it sits now with power plant, prop and spinner installed is @ 2.5" behind former 2, this means I will probably be placing some of the radio gear behind the C/G to get it balanced.

I guess what we did not consider is that fat that you would have to mount the 100 urther forward because of a shorer crank.. therefore, more engine weight further forward to help compensate for the small engine.

George - do you worry about the aluminum mount bolts galling in the steel nuts? I've been thinking of using titanium bolts for this application basically to eliminate the possibility of them galling (and then not being removable!). Obviously, if I could use aluminum, I would from both a cost and weight standpoint. Thoughts?

Aluminum to aluminum usually locks up unless you use anti seize lubricant generally used in full scale applications. Aluminum to steel with silicone won't pose as a problem.

2.5" behind F-2 is 1/4" in front of the leading edge of the wing. I'm assuming you meant F-3, if so 2.5" behind F-3 would be 1 7/8" in front of the recomended CG which is way nose heavy. If you are balancing 2.5 behind F-2 you'll probably be placing all of the radio gear and the kitchen sink behind of the recomended CG.

No, like I said, 2.5" behind F2 where the cowling meets the fuse, also with the 4 servos in the tail and the horizontal stab in place, along with batteries behind the canopy this will be a stroll in the park.

The recommended C/G is 11.3" behind F2 and this thing balances at 2.5" behind F2 equaling 8.8" in front of the C/G as it sits Ok, there is 1 LB 12 ozs. in tail feathers, servos and hardware at 60" behind the C/G; moving the C/G aft about 8.00" Because of the project target weight and power plant choice, the aft portion of the fuse had to be fabricated very light or the recommended C/G would have been unattainable without led in the nose; killing the target weight in the first place. Remember that 60" arm is very sensitive to the C/G.

Just a prediction here, i bet we will find out as progress is made, i just dont understand why people cant help to keep the b.s. comments to themselves about ow it wont work or it gonna blow u or whatever. Let the man build, let the man fly, if it fails, you will have your turn to say i told you so...
BUT... if it flys great, makes weight, balances where it should, i bet no one has the balls to admit they were wrong.

So are you saying that you put the whole airplane together, wings, stabs etc. and it balances at 2.5" behind F-2 or are you saying that your fuse balances at 2.5" behind F-2 ?
