Does anybody here think the yaks rudder and the extras rudder are the same? The full scale yak rudder has a drop as it goes forward. Otherwise, looks nice.

Franks Plane,
Finishing it up now installing the guts
Hope to have it in the air within couple weeks. Depending on the weather
Also making couple changes, repainting the canopy stripes in Orange and getting the graphics package cut so it shouldn't be long till we get a flight review from Frank.

If I am not mistaken, that is Jim and Matt Shorts Trailor, so I guess they built the Yak.

I was hoping someone would notice how ugly the scale wheel pants look. Maybe the full scale guys will 'fix' theirs!

Cool looking bird.

The YAK 54 has wheel pants, the 55 does not only half pant. I don't even use the half pant on my CA 2.6 YAK..

Hmm, that doesnt look bad, but yes the rudder looks wrong, and it needs louvers. But that can probably be fixed by the builder.

Whats it weigh?

Hey T.Bob - Why won't Carden be selling too many 260s... no demand or very limited run?? Personally, I think that plane has huge potential ..

$1200 just for the kit, then you need to have a professional build and cover it. For the same money I can get a CA 3.3 Yak and build it myself in a week.

PITA, Ive seen people selling cardens because they get burned out building them.. everyone is different, but looks like at least Mokken and myself are not into that big of a kit.. They need to offer an ARC

Every Carden I have seen was built by a professional, why would I attempt building a plane myself when I could never duplicate the quality. To each his own I guess....

Well, seeing as how the airplane doesn't have all the equipment in it, it is kinda obvious that there shouldn't be a figure there. Yes, they could estimate one, but then someone would end up *****ing that they were pulling numbers out of thin air and raise cane about that. I guess you just can't win. While I've never built a Carden, they don't look all THAT difficult to glue together. Yes the Composite-Arf's leave little to no place where the owner can mess up the alignment sticking one together, and that's why they are so popular. To each his own I guess.

BAH! You guys who claim Cardens are a hard build are just bein wussies! (OK...gonna go duck and hide now!)

Seriously...are they really much more complicated than a Kadet Senior trainer? They're just a truss structure built from balsa sticks.....there's nothing hard or really even time consuming about the build. (OK...maybe sheeting foam takes some time....but even then the time is spent just waiting for the glue to dry!)

Oh well...everyone likes what they like. Personally...I like lotsa little sticks!

I disagree that Carden's are an easy build, I've built 2, working on my 3rd and I'd say that u have to be a very skilled builder to get it right. When u build aircraft of this type on a regular basis, u forget how much skill is involved because it's second nature to u.

U need all the right equipment, including but not limited to the spray guns and paint equip. work benches that are straight and can support the weight needed to sheet the foam parts, the skills to align everthing and the equip. to do so accurately.

Most people are not set up like this, and certainly would not invest in this type of equipment to build one plane.

I've seen a couple of Carden's that were really botched, u don't see it often cause most people investing that kind of money either have the skills and equip. or the smarts to have a pro build it.

Mike
