Thanks Gator, hopefully I will get it flying by March 15. I still have about 2 more weeks of work before I start to cover.

That looks sweet Jess..... Looks like you've put a lot of work into it.... I'd like to see how they engineered the whole wing tube thing.... I wasn't very happy with the way my SuDoKhoi 60 was engineered...

Hey luv2flyrc, good looking Cap. I like the 3 blade prop. Do you have a weight?

Jess:

Can you tell me how you cut the hole in the balsa sheeting for the wing tube. I'm building a 35% Carden Edge and I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a clean cut.

Default weight

I haven't got an accurate scale.

On the bathroom job it weighs in at 20.5lbs, that's with a KS cannister slung under the belly. The cannister probably adds close to a #.

My flying field is very noise sensitive and with the 3-blade Mejzlik and KS cannister the plane is whisper quiet.

Default Holes

rthorne,

My hole was pre-drilled on the Cap kit. The fuse sides are 90 degrees to the wing-tube.

As I understand the edge, the fuse angles and are not 90 degrees.

I did, however cut lightening holes in some balsa sheets with a dry wall hole cutter in the drill press. Just back up the balsa with ply wood so the balsa does not splinter. Then sand. Works great.

Default Hatch

Gluing the hatch to the hatch mounts. I used dowels on the front of the hatch so there wouldn't be so many screws to mount.
