RE: Real rides
Nitro...sold a Javelin? Damn! one of my favorite cars EVER, next to the AMX and the first gen Torino and the '70-72 Cutlass and a few others...
I hope your dad gets the AMX. I passed on a '70 Javelin about 7 or 8 years ago and i've been kicking myself in the butt ever since[:@] it was a rust-free car in Michigan...how often does THAT happen?

RE: Real rides
Every weekend I drive buy a shop that has at least 3 amx's or javelins and wonder when I am going to buy one for myself, As of now my dad and I have too many projects going so we don't have the time to build one but the day will come soon hopefully.
Those TT's really look great on that car and it is a great color too.

RE: Real rides
It's a shop that buys wrecked cars and fixes them up, they have one finished AMX and I think two unfinished javelins. The AMX has been for sale for a while but it doesnt look too good up close, they must have rushed the resto. I don't know the status on the unfinished cars but If you like I can check it out for you.

RE: Real rides
What condition car are you looking for? two of them are really beat up needing a full ground up restoration and the AMX is complete but done very poorly, I wouldnt recommend these cars unless you want something to restore.
I will stop by as soon as I can to find out prices and years.

RE: Real rides
well we would prolly only be interested in the AMX cuz we are looking for something that needs a little work, so if you could find out what he wants for it that would be awesome. if the price is reasonable we would be interested. also see if u can find out 3 things: motor size? 4 speed? go pac car? thanks man for doing this i appreciate it, just pm me when u find out something, or u can just post on here thanks.

RE: Real rides
oh man! well thanks anyway. there was one here in town that weve beeen trying to get forever, it a 69 390 4 speed go pac car, thats been sitting for ever its got some rust and needs restored and the guy turned down our $7000 offer, and there was a 70 chalanger in town thats been sitting for like 15 years, he wont sell, there a 64 409 425 horse 2 four 4 speed ss impala sitting in a carport for 20 years, he wont sell. lol but we found some in oregon and a few in spokane that we are gong to follow up on. we are going to look at a 65 corrnet big block 4 speed car this weekend for $4000. but its amazing how people just let things sit and dont sell!

RE: Real rides
well heres a couple pics of our amx, this is pics of it in oregone at the guys house that we bought it from, it looks the same now, the one pic is of how it looks now, with the motor out, and one of how it did look, its not missing anything everything was included with the car, it was set up for drag tho, so the springs in the front along with the shocks need to be changed, also it has line lock on the brakes, the motor was new but the adapter that they welded, yeah welded, on to the flexplate to make the tranny work broke off, so a new machined one has to be made but that was all that was wrong with the car, other that the guy was obsessed with the red white and blue combo and as u can see painted everything, including the radiator and the fan, we will put it all back to black.

RE: Real rides
and i got my rat rod project! actually im gonna do a more "traditional hot rod" style rod, i bought the car from a guy who inhereted his dad and grandpa's collections over 150 cars! everything from fiat sports cars to a hillman minx (that i really wanted) to 70's chevs, the guy has barns full on new old stock 20's, 30's ford parts, well anyway he had this in one of his feilds, and i got it, its totally stock not missing anything, it has newer for v8 wheels and newer head lights all period correct, i paid $1300. it will be fenderless with a 7" chop, deep channel and a drop out front when im done. il update pics as i go oh its a 29' ford 5 window coupe by the way.
