Default Genesis 46 Race mode

Pictured here is Andrew Smolnik’s racing GENESIS 46. This is the exact truck right off the track!! You may see this truck at your local track in the near future as Team CEN will be attending many large MT races this year.

This truck is virtually stock, still powered by the .46 5hp engine. It does however, utilize our all new 23mm hex’s (available soon) Andrew’s truck is running on Pro-Line’s 40 series / 23mm rims, along with Pro-Line Bow Tie Racing tires. This truck is also sporting a Pro-Line Crowd Pleazer race body.

When racing Team CEN Driver’s remove their reverse mechanism inside the transmission. They also, remove the first speed gear, using only second and third. Top Dimesion X shocks are removed for weight and down travel purposes. For further questions feel free to contact our friendly technicians. They will be more than happy to help you out with you CEN needs. They can offer many tip’s and tricks to make you reach the winner’s circle!

Quite simply awesome. I would like to wish Andrew the very best of luck in the upcoming races. It will be priceless to see the look on the faces of those people who have criticised the Genesis in the past. Well done CEN.

Im evening going to call a shot like the Babe Ruth.

You WILL see the GENESIS in the winner's circle this year.

Bold statement. But this is how confident I am.

Really nice work CEN. But why haven't you replaced the stock control arms, if you ask me I think the upper control arms are really weak.
But good work and I hope you will out race some revos and lst, so they be quite about that genesis can't race

Thanks Jadda,

Actually we have been using the stock arms with no problems. THe newer arms seem to work very well.

Okay I didn't know that you have made new arms or changed the plastic to higher quality.
Do they have a higher quality plastic or have you changed the design for them?

thanks for the answer and the update Andrew.

Andrew,
With the changes you have made, what have you got the weight down to??
Have you changed the diff cases to the aluminium ones? or did you stick with plastic for weight considerations?
Also, (sorry about all the q's ) Did you really notice the difference off the line without 1st?
And finally what are you running through the motor (fuel type and plug type)? Oh, are you using roto start or pull start??

Thanks

Buster

Just one quick question, has the racing Genesis been tested against other makes of truck to check how competitive it is? Also (two questions, sorry) will the details of the alterations, ie the gearing used, oil weight etc be available to people wishing to modify their Genesis similarly? Thanks. Just as a footnote, I would like to thank Andrew for taking time to come on the forum and answer eveyones questions. I am sure you have other places to be and it means alot to me and I would imagine everyone else aswell. Thanks again.

Bustergonad,

Actually just weighed it for you. Fueled up ready to go. It now weighs 14.2 lbs. With the weight reduction, you wont miss 1st gear at all. It is simply not needed.

I like to use Byron's Fuel. 30 % with short hot plugs. Engine tends to run strong with this combination.

Thanks for the questions!

Andrew,
Thanks...... dropping almost 4lbs is pretty good. Kinda surprised your still only clocking at 45 mph with the lighter truck.
FYI I did read a post over at cengenesis.com (I think that's where I read it) that a guy over in the UK radared hit gen at 54+ mph, just wondered if you guys have got that kind of speed out of the gen or maybe there is some slight exageration to the story

Edit, looks like rcpics removes vids after a certain length of time.

The racing truck looks awesome, i got a genesis for xmas. I have ran 9 tanks through it and on my first proper run i have managed to remove teeth from a couple of gears in the gear box. I am not complaining as this truck is the mutts nuts. I am looking to remove the reverse gear as i dont need it and i wouldnt mind shedding a bit of weight, but i dont know how so a little advice would be good. All said this truck rocks.

What is everyone's consensus regarding the CEN .46 engine? Good? Bad? The reason I'm asking is that I'm considering buying 2 of these engines for my truck. (No, I don't have a CEN truck.)

Good solid engine.. a bugger to pull start and uses a heap of fuel but a joy to hear and see!

As a promotional waste of money, we are looking to fit one to a few different types of cars sold through us to showcase the power of the .46 engine.

We sell most of our products to mainland China and Hong Kong, so anything that doesnt have a .15 Chinese made engine will blow their socks off... an easy crowd.

Censpares, sounds like you have some experience with the CEN products. Let me ask you, is the CENTER DIF WITH 3SPEED TRANS available for purchase? if so, what is the approx price tag?

By the way, here's what those engines will go in if I decide to buy them:

Let me be the first to say.. JESUUUUSSSS CHRIST!
I see a set of vernia calipers under there. What are they for? it looks like you should be measuring that thing with a trundle wheel!

We can sell you all the parts for the Genesis. However first I request that you try at your local hobby store. If you cannot get what you need from your LHS, then send me an email and I can price up the parts for you.

Hey Censpares, you left out the "H"!! lol

Anyway, I just ordered 2 46's. If I can't get the center-dif with the 3 speed trans or it's not strong enough for 2 46's, that would only leave an OFNA 2-spd trans with steel gears.

Well, censpares, I just got both engines in today. Received them, not installed them! DAMN, son, they're as big as my TTR 70! Just a "preliminary fit" indicated that the rear of the frame will need to be, ahem, altered(?)! LOL

Yes, they are large. If they are going in the back, what will counter balance them?

LOL! Fuel tank comes to mind. I was looking for a 250cc plastic tank, but, with the size of these engines, and as you mentioned, counterbalance, I think I had better go with aluminum, maybe in the 300cc range.

Jackbarrow.
As Andrew S. Im sure he will be able to tell you.

RC_Jack.
How are you meshing these engines together. Have you considered a helical gear system. As in the ofna car.. dare I say it. This would surely help reduce the number of stripped teeth when putting two of those engines on the one driveline.
