RE: just got a CEN Genisis
Hi Abonnet,
You can find some answers in previous postings about the Genesis problems concerning steering, turning radius and gear shifting.
Here is a link to the webshop where I bought my 6V pack http://www.hobbyfreun.de/shop/produc...oducts_id=2865
This shop is in Germany (they ship world wide) but I think this pack is also available in the US.
With a 6V pack and tightening the servo saver (and using my Futaba TX/RX) I found the original steering servo "oke". Must admit though that I have a Hitec HS945 standby.....
And yes, my Genesis also came "NOT ready to rock" out of the box......
I consider myself lucky that this was not my first monster truck......
But it took only 10 minutes or so to adjust all settings so that the truck was ready for test driving and another 10 minutes to fine tune after a few runs. I only forgot to check the distance of the pinion gears to the transmission gears......cost me a set of pinion gears[&o]
After fitting a new set (and setting allignment en distance 100%) I noticed again strong wear on these pinion gears allready after a few runs. I believe these gears are made out of a very soft steel.
I ordered a new -harder- set of pinion gears in Italy (found them on Ebay). Hope they will last longer.....
I will post a report on these gears when they get to me (seller informed me; end of this week) and had time to test drive them.

MadMonster,
I appreciate your feedback. Just what I need. afew good tips from owners that have had experience with the truck.
I will look into the battery pack and the servo.
Please do let us know about the gears you ordered from Italy. SOn't want to go through a set of gears. I rather change them right off the bat and not have bummed day a t the track.
Thanks!!

There is a set on Ebay right now!
They cost $35 worldwide shipping included.
I bought my set from the same guy; good communication and prompt shipping!

Hi benifur,
This guy speaks also English! (wrote to me in English) Try sending him an email directly.
I have been out on the track with Genis all afternoon and went trough 8 tanks of fuel with the new pinions.......they still look perfect!!!
It was a perfect day -> nice warm weather, a super challenge jump ramp and a truck that took it al in without any real dammage
She (yes she...) is realy growing on me.....must admit it was not love from the first ride but that has changed over the past weeks.
Today Genis faced a ramp that launched the truck straight up in the air for about 5 to 10 feet high (depending on the speed).
I did jump it over 50 times....... landed all times more or less perfect except 1 nose landing and 2 rear landings......[&:]
The only times I had to stop was to fill up the tank (7x) and on one of the bad landings one of the shocks popped off its top end.
Only had to top up the shock oil and screw the top back on the schock body -> 3 minutes "work".
WAW never ever did I see a truck take what I served it and get away without any damage! (and I have had "some" cars before and seen a lot of trucks in action)

RE: just got a CEN Genisis
My truck has the front brace for the transmission input shaft and I was wondering whether anyone has broken the spur gears with this fitted?

RE: just got a CEN Genisis
Yep! My Genesis is of the 3rd Generation and had the support on the transmission shaft.......
Stript (not broke) one set of spur gears after only 5 tanks or so cause the distance between the axles was too great (original Cen setting[])
The second set (with all gears set 100% oke) was wearing too fast (noticed heavy wear already after about 10-15 tanks).
Did'nt like the idea of replacing spur gears in this pace and found an alternative on Ebay.
An Italian Guy had the same experience with the spurs and had new and stronger ones made by a specialist company.
I payed $35 worldwide shipping included and thats exactly the same as I payed for an original set in Germany.
Put them on the truck before the weekend and went through about 15 tanks.......and the gears still look very good!
There is a little bit of wear visible but absolutely not abnormal.
A big thank you for Totoluci (his Ebay name) for taking the initiative to have better spur gears made![sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: just got a CEN Genisis
I've just purchased the spur gears from Totoluci and I should have them in 2 weeks.
The current ebay link for these gears is -

I've just bought a second hand genesis and was told it is a 3rd generation model. What does the tranmission shaft support look like as I'm not shure if mine has one.

It looks like this: [link=http://www.cenracing.com/cars/genesis/parts/gs097.jpg]P/N: GS097[/link]
I could only find it listed at: [link=http://mivasecure.abac.com/toyhaus/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GS097&Category_Code=]www.toyhaus.com - GS097[/link]

RE: just got a CEN Genisis
I've owned many gensis trucks and these things can be alittle complex to figure out to say the least.I've had ordered 3 trucks at a time just to keep one running then sold parts on ebay to get my money back.I've experienced glitches, bad trans, bad servo's,bad motors, but over all with they are so fun to drive when they are up and running. The 3 speed trans is amazing.the speed of the truck is amazing and power to say the least.(note) is vary dangerous though to say the least, so make sure you have anything right and do all pre-run checks.if you see anything that raises your eye don;t start this truck.I no that all nitro cars are not toys but this one can vary easily have you in court.I've hit my shed on time and about run though it and it is made with 1 in would and metal.Buy the way did about 150 dollar worth of damage. Also I had 2 trans 3 speed that have something wrong with them I willing to sell for parts if some is interested in them.I will take 25.00 plus shipping cost.

RE: just got a CEN Genisis
I just recently got my gst 7.7. I've run about 10 tanks so far. Today the left rear tire came off while I was driving it. I put it back and thought maybe it was lose but then it happened again. Anyone know what might be causing this?

RE: just got a CEN Genisis
When I give it full throtle it seems like the engine is overheading and it's not changing gears and then turns off. Some smoke will then come out of the engine head area. What is causing it to shut off could it be that the engine is overheating or that it's not changing gears or maybe both? Need help please.

Check out RB Innovations for some really good air intakes for your R/C's, but stay away from the bogus engine killing superchargers on there though.
