4 wheel drive problem?
I took my ST2 out for a spin at the weekend and noticed a problem... only the two rear wheels are turning and not the front ones! Thus causing the car to spin just a little too much for my liking!!! Went to my LHS and he advised me to buy this lubricant spray (GT85) and spray all the moving and mechanical parts and this should help the wheels turn???
As I aint got a clue about the "moving and mechanical parts" can someone PLEEEEEEEEASE advise??? tan que

RE: 4 wheel drive problem?
first off, find a new hobby store... your problem sounds like either you broke a drive cup... broke the front cvd(drive shaft) or the set screw in the center drive shaft is loose or fell off.. It sounds like you don't know alot about this truck... well, we will help you here.. check each area I mentioned and see what you find... I bet its one of those...
The dif cups are at the ends of each drive shaft in the front... if they break, which they will, you will lose the drive to that axle.. buy extras..... the drive shaft is less likely to break thankfully, as its expensive to replace.. the set screw is located on the driveshaft that runs from the two gears to the front diff of the truck... each end has a set screw and a drive cup... they are not too tight from factory and will get loose... check them and all other screws on the truck often... use loctite on these to prevent this from happening again...
Lastly... your hobby store selling you a lubricant spray shows lack of knowledge in the product or any product in general.. sounds like he just wanted to get rid of you....

It looks like I lost a set screw in the front drive shaft. Everything else on the outside looks OK. Anyone know where to buy just a set screw. It seems to only come with part FF047. Is it worth taking the fron end off to see if anything else is broken? It sounds like these screws are loose and I did not tighten it properly.

It may be worth getting a set of RCScrewz for the CEN. They do the complete set and you will have an abundance of spares.
It is definitely worth taking it apart and having a look to see exactly what is going on in there. A missing screw may just be the tip of the iceberg. Plus stripping the diffs down will be something good to familiarise yourself with, get to know the inner workings of your truck.

Thanks. I will definitely be ordering a set of Screwz. I took the front end apart and everything else there looks good. However, I think I broke the steering servo. It clicks and will not turn to the right. Looks like I will be making a trip to the lhs for this one. I took a tumble down a hill at a friends house yesterday. I ran out of gas shortly after and did not think anything was broken. I'll learn to check it over better after running it.

If thats a stock CEN steering servo, the plastic gears strip really easily, CEN should replace it under warantee for you. But buy a better one for the steering and keep the CEN one for a spare, or better still CEN should replace it with a better one anyway!!

I think that's what I am going to do. I have an email into CEN and I think I will be visiting the the hobby shop in the morning and splurge on a more sturdy server for the steering.

Alvinl,
We will replace your servo with another, but personally, I'd save the time and shipping costs and just buy a good metal gear servo. This is only because the replacement will be the equivalent of the one the stripped out easily. Also speaking as a consumer that has seen many an RTR come and go once you get yourself away from the stock stuff and into the better equipment its just in your best interest to continue in the slightly more expensive, yet much higher quality, servo selection.
