Default OS .26 in a MT2... not just any .26 though *video*:)

Still in test stage but so far so good! flys with stock gearing and wheels but i really need to go up a load of teeth on the clutch bell to stop valve floating! (thats why i have fitted the stock, slightly larger wheels instead of my masher 2ks)

Heres a list of what the cen has:
OS FS-26S-C w/ AE .15 carb, HPI Savage 3shoe clutch
CVDs front and rear
Alloy threaded shocks
Alloy brake seat w/ stainless disk
Ti Tie rods
High torque servo
Stock tires on some crazy offset tamiya (i think) wheels with foam inserts (cars handle crap with out them)

There might be more but thats most of them

seems to perform great! only had a few on road runs but it sure feels more controllable then a 2stroke it with sudden bursts of power... and sounds awesome.... no swarms of bees for me

im not sure... i got them from a mate and they where in a box with loads of tamiya bits so maybe there tamiya. there very nice wide offset wheels that make the car very stable (car it almost as wide as it is long with them, just 1.5inch longer!)

nice going craig, that thing must fly!

how are the spur gears coping? any issues with the drivetrain at all?

i think i saw some rims like those by tamiya on ebay recently btw - they are the stock cen 12mm hex size arent they?

lol nice! but i don't have the ££ and there not really needed [8D]
I REALLY like the chassis made by them but i would not have the guts to take the dremel to it to make the 4stroke fit!

Cheers

not you worry i will have some video soon!

i don't actually have a fail safe but i will get one soon... wont want a run away with this fourstroke... theres not much that will stop it once its moving lol also i get about 20min runs from a single tank

look at this item
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Cen-...QQcmdZViewItem

how many teeth do you think there is on that clutch bell and where can i get one? will it work with the stock MT spur gears?

its a 14/18 combo in steel that one mate

oops - i misscounted.... lol - its a 15t 1st gear... odd. didnt think they did a 15/19, but thats what it probably is.

only places i have found online that stock those are in the states, ill have a look for the links.

right - the part number of the 15/19 bell is G84311-04. Run a search for it on google etc, i cant find anywhere in the uk tho. but this [link=http://www.toyhaus.com/ff4wdst.html]link[/link] has another link on it to 2 speed parts and thier part numbers - both should be of some help to u.

That's really cool. How does it compare to the stock NT-16 motor? I know OS only rates that motor at like .5 hp, but CEN probably over rates the NT-16 at 1.2 hp. I bet it holds it's own.

so far i find it much better then the nt-16, and expect things to get better once i up the cluch bell a few teeth.

Yes the hp it low compaired to the nt-16 even though its almost twice the size but the engine has tons of torque, i think the car now will crawl over what ever you put in front of it[>:]

Very cool craigb. Welcome to the CEN 4-stroke club

What kind of RPM's will that engine put out? I had to put huge gears on my Genesis, it only revs to 10,000.

haha, Genesis twin i was waiting for you to reply! i seen your VERY nice truck when i searched CEN 4stroke to see if anyone has already done it!

anyway... my 4stroke looks to put out about twice your rpms (22,000) so its not TOO bad.

Have you ever thought of trying another carb on that engine? i fitted a .15 2stroke carb on mine and the engine was much better to tune [8D]

poor judgement
I think the 2speed on my cen is the same as the one on ebay so the metal gears should fit right? any chance you know the part numbers for them gears so i can get them on order incase i ever need them ... they sure look beefy

Thanks craig, I blew a rod on my first engine (pic above on right) that had a single carb and now have the Saito with dual carbs. It's now even more of a pain to tune. I would like to get different carbs just because the Saito has air bleed carbs. For one thing I don't like the fact that It is sucking in unfiltered air. Mounting them would be a challenge though.

how did you manage to blow a rod?!!? could you not fix it?

2carbs??? haha i would not even know where to start there[&:]

im sure it wont be to hard to make it run a single carb using the same setup as on your old engine? and it will be much more simple to tune

yes it would be a challenge! but you fitted a twin 4stroke in a car... now thats a challenge.

Default RE: OS .26 in a MT2... not just any .26 though

A rod cap screw backed out and trashed several parts. There are no parts available any more for the old OS FT-120.
On the Saito 182 the intake events overlap so one carb will not work. The pistons are in-line and on the same crank pin.
