Default Will these wheels/tires fit with my new Dr.Honda hex drives?

Will these fit on my FF?

I just got a set of 14mm hex drives from Dr.Honda (In the mail) and you guys were talkign about needing the proper offset on the larger rims so the steering works properly

These are "RPM CLAWZ"....cheap on e-bay!

Will these fit? I dont want to buy the wrong parts!

Do they have any info in the ebay add? Like, whether they came off a Tmaxx or what they came off of. If they are off of the Tmaxx, I believe the Tmaxx uses 14mm hexes and they will probably fit.

I keep seeing those go cheap on ebay so i ordered a set from RCBOYS. It says wide offset so they should work i hope. Mine should come in any day now.

i wouldnt like to say for certain with those tyres, and im guessing ur running the stock cen chassis?

its gonna be very close i reckon - lower profile tyres will give u a better chance, or imex romulin wheels (make sure they have the 14-17mm adapter included tho, they usually do have) if u want to run big tyres and be sure to clear the bodywork etc.

having said that... theres probably someone out there whos tried them... maybe worth a search of the gallery/photos section mate?

I know they are 14mm hex wheels and they are off a Savage!

I was just not sure about the offset.

Tnkx guys!

I'm going to take a look at the imex romulin wheels everyone is talking about! I would like to go with the low pro tires anyway to try and get the most out of the packages of stock front axles before I do the Jato shaft mod!

Yeah the Imex wheels look like they have a much larger offset than the blue ones I found on e-bay!

I think I wont take any chances and just buy the parts you guys recommend!

Those wheels look like these [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAFW7&P=7]here[/link]

If they are the same they will fit ok, I put [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXBLM6]these[/link] on mine along with panther komodos and have had no problems. They both have 22mm offset and 14mm hex.

Well,

I grabbed a set of the Imex Romulins for about 20 bucks. I got the chrome ones like in the pic above!

Now the next question!

I need some rubberl

I'm looking at these guys!

Proline Mulcher Maxx

Will these bad boys fit on the Imex rims? I figured they would because the Imex wheels are for "TMaxx, EMaxx, Savage" on e-bay and the Mulchers are for "TMaxx, EMaxx, Savage"....but the Imex rims have a diameter of 3.2" and the Mulchers have an inner diameter of 3.4"...although the web site says they are standard size!?!!?

Someone let me know so I can buy these things or move on!

Tnkx

They should fit IMO.
Also consider [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/Panther-Komodo-Dragon-Tires-Medium-Soft-Savage-T-Maxx_W0QQitemZ6036068195QQcategoryZ34063QQssPageNa meZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]these[/link] for a LOW profile alternative.

they should fit fine on those rims, they WILL be a bit much for the stock shafts and drivetrain tho, especially with the kind of grip they will give - uve been warned!

here u go - same wheel (romulin) one with the low profile komodo, and one with stock tmaxx size brick pins - the komodos put a lot less stress on the driveshafts etc and are a much better option imo

Well I took the advice of those who know better and went with the Panther Komodos! On the way right now along with my Imex wheels, Dr. Honda hex adapters and shock towers!

When I do the Jato shaft conversion I will buy the mulchers.....mainly cause they look cool.

When I get everything in the mail and get my OS engine installed I will take some pics for you guys!

Now all I need is a body to replace the ugly ATX body...which has chunks missing! I would have one by now but I cant justify paying 40 bucks for a piece of flimsy plastic! Thats almost 1/2 the price of a new engine!

Tnkx guys!

Here is what the Romulin rims, Komodo tires look like on my ATX. It's been such crappy weather, they have not seen dirt yet. I want to change the shocks for some 1/8 buggy shocks and I would like to add a set of ARO shock towers to it. I think with a little dremel work, the ARO shock tower will fit the front of the ATX and offer a little more adjustment. Then I want to lower the ride height just a little. I think you will like the Komodo tires. They are VERY firm though and will give you a workout getting them on the rims. I found myself sitting there wondering "how the h3!! can I put that much foam in that low profile of a tire". Give us some pics when you get her together. Thanks.

Ba ha ha ha...

I was looking at this pic on e-bay:

Thinking the same thing!

How is the ride with those tires/rims? Not too bouncy?

I have not been able to drive it yet. I will say the Komodo tires have absolutely NO give or bounce to them. I think they would be very good at the track, but I don't know for sure. It takes a little working it to get the foams smoothed out inside that tire, but it is doable.

i had to soften my suspension up quite a lot to get the komodos to work pretty well, but they still give a "lively" drive, u can slide around corners nice n easy with these on. smoother surfaces are best for them mind - a beach covered in shells for example, is far from ideal for them...

u could always find some softer/smaller foams for them, they are rock hard compared to my brick pins.

Can I get different strength springs for the stock FF shocks?

Actually...Since I'm getting the upgraded shock towers from Dr. Honda, can someone let me know of a sweet shock to run...for a decent price mind you...No carbon fiber or titanium needed!

I've been having good luck with the CEN threaded shocks. 26$ a pair i think. They come with hard and soft springs and tmaxx springs will fit but i had to use the spring "seat rings" (hope you know what i mean)

Shocks should be no more than 95 mm (3.75") long. That is why a lot of us have installed buggy front shocks.
Regarding tires, has anyone tried or can get a hold on Panther BOA tires?
They seem narrow as the Komodos but have bigger diameter allowing them to run on not so smooth surfaces.

With the Dr Honda towers 100mm is about the limit, you can go a little longer than 100mm if you move your shock mounts out on the lower arms, which aint that difficult as long as you drill one more hole (towards the outside) and use the existing outside hole as the inside hole.
You can also use slightly longer shocks if you limit the travel internally with fuel tubing.
FYI, I use the Cen Alu upgrade shocks and are happy with them.
