The cure for Genesis center link slop!!!
Hey fellas,
Ever notice the slop in the center link bushings on a genesis/nemesis series steering?? Well I have...but it has not been a high priority on my list of "improvements" for this truck...Then I made a mistake on ordering some bearings for another mod I'm working on.....Guess what? Those bearings are NOT the perfect size for the center link, but the screws fit very well in the center of the bearing and if you drill out the center link with a small uni-bit to the 1/4" step the bearings fit perfectly and it just so happens that of you mount two of these flanged bearings both on top and bottom of the center link they are the perfect depth for the center link thickness. Now just add an 1/8" slotcar axle washer between the bellcrank arm and center link you are in free moving heaven with the slop completely gone!!! Wohooo!!! no more slop..Its even better than the brand new center link bushinhgs that came with a new truck!!I mocked it up a new set up to prove it...Think A kit is in order??

Rob you are right about the binding but the bearings used actually touch on the center race and do not allow for over tightening.
Playtime, Check the "Bearings" Link in the post..they are 1/4" x 1/8" x 3/32" Flanged Teflon Sealed bearings from RC Boyz on eBay But any flanged bearing with 1/8"ID x 1/4"OD x 3/32"H dimesions should work
Have Fun!!!!

Doh !! In my infinite ignorance, I didn't realize that was a link!! It's the "old dog" thing. I've only been online for about 3 years now. My shoe size and my computer IQ are roughly equal. Thanks for your patient explanation. Best to you and yours !!!
