A 0.46 with a Hawk
Hi
I was wondering how would a Hawk perform with a os 0.46 or 0.50 with the conversion kit SIDE FRAME CONV. SET(O.S50SX-H). I live in Mexico City and a heli with a 0.32 will no lift, with a 0.39 flies ok but does no have much power. Has anybody flown a Hawk with these engines?
Thanks

RE: A 0.46 with a Hawk
I put a OS-50 into my Hawk IV. The increase was pretty good, the speed increase by about 7MPH and the climb was much better. I placed it in there for better inverted climb and i am still tinkering with that. I would say that there was an 30-40% increase in performance. But, i like on the East coast near sea level so take that into consideration. Just remember it is going to weigh more with the medal frame and burn more gas.

My Hawk Sport flies great with an OS 32-SXH. It seems to climb well. I don't fly inverted, yet, so I don't know how it will perform upside down. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif] You should not have any trouble getting the Hawk to fly well with a 32 on it. Sounds like you may need to take a second look at your throttle/pitch setup. A second opinion from an experienced pilot is always helpful.
Good Luck?
