3D with Hawk Sport
Will the stock wood blades on my Hawk Sport support 3D flying?. Inverted, rolls, tight loops, etc? Or should I spring for carbon blades? Has a OS 32 engine, standard servos, piezo gyro(not heading hold).

The wood blades will 3D fine. But if you have the Sport (not the latest Pro) I would suggest that you install the feathering spindle sleeves from the Pro. This stiffens up the soft trainer damping a lot to increase cyclic etc. Part # HW3180B. Also changing the softer stock black dampers for the hard red ones (HI3181A).

I have a hawk pro with a Toki 40 and I 3d it with the stock woodies, just make sure that you glue the blade root well with epoxy. I also have never gone over 1750 on head speed. Some 3d manuvers will be difficult or impossible with wood blades and a .32 engine.
You may want to invest in a heading hold gyro the Futaba GY401 w/s9254 in a easy to use and holds very, very well. This will make it easier too.
